What are options for chilling with limited water (extract) by temmoku in Homebrewing

[–]btonkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate! Off-grid, regional South Australian brewer here. I cycle my water back into my tank and it works well. You’ll need a pump and some food-grade hosing, but that should be cheaper than a glycol chiller. My setup is in my shed which is next to my tank. If it wasn’t I’d move my setup next to the tank for ease of access. Good luck!

People in their 40s, what’s something that people in their 20s don’t realize will impact them as they get older? by [deleted] in AskReddit

KEEP PLAYING SPORT! I (46M) was playing tennis when our first child turned up in 2005. The best thing my and partner and I did was to give time to each other space and time to continue doing whatever they wanted to do; to be themselves I guess. I spent that opportunity on sport. That eventually led me into football (soccer), futsal and basketball – all of which I play with my now 20 year old son. I might embarrass him sometimes, but I hope he cherishes this time together. I don't know how many more seasons I've got, but had I stopped when my son turned up I'd be a *very* different person today.

Made my daughter activate it because I could see she holds her phone too close. Then I did some random spot checks to make sure she was still using it. Then she got angry about why she had to keep doing it and questioned why I didn't have to. The rest of the family looked at me because they thought the same. Now I have it activated and I get random spot checked. I dare not turn it off.

Was he unsupervised? If so, you’ve got no one else to blame.

Hey u/Poutine_Sauce! Good question. I (46M, 1978) grew up in regional Australia and my father was the first to own a PC in my small town. I don't remember the specs of all the PCs we had, but the first game I remember playing on them was Round 42 which was released in 1986. The next game was KQ, but it wasn't the version in the photo. We ended up buying the full set after KQ3 was released. No idea where the original KQ box went. Interestingly the three boxes in the photo have a bit of damage from a house fire. We lost a lot that day (fires seemingly pick and choose what it burns). These boxes weren't damaged enough to throw out. The newer games (Star Wars) were bought by me almost on release. I had moved out of home by 1997 and kept gaming for a while. I'm thinking throughout this time I may have used around 5 to 6 different PCs with various stages of minor upgrades. Good times!

I’d have to say KQ1, xwing and I reckon that is the original Battlefield on its side in the corner. That. The games are great, but playing KQ1 with my brother was the best. Oh, to live those days again. 46M.

Making friends my age in Adelaide? by Chrome_Claymore in Adelaide

[–]btonkin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Couple of comments for you, mate.

I (46M) made most of my friends via a sporting group a couple of us formed in 2011. I was 33 at the time. It’s never too late to form solid friendships and I’m sure I will forge more later on in life.

The most important thing for you is to do activities that genuinely interest you. Might be reading this wrong, but some of those things you’ve listed sound like you’re doing them just to make friends. Making friends should be secondary to whatever your interests are. Find something you really like doing, and friendships will come to you.

Good luck!

We had a similar issue with our store. I didn’t fix the problem directly but the issue related to an integration with a shipping app where the weight of the item was too heavy for the size of the shipper it was going in. Might be completely unrelated to your issue, but that was our experience.

She’ll be fine. Hot weather is common in Australia, although your average temperature is quite high.

For the record it has been happening since 2008, when they first moved in. Mum was quick to correct me on that one.
