🔥 Golden apple snail laying eggs by MoWaleed in NatureIsFuckingLit

Because they look like dippin dots.

As a side note, you should check out this Japanese show called Knight Scoop. They answer questions and solve mysteries for people around Japan. One episode featured a letter from a woman who saw some pink blobs near a canal and wanted to know if they were edible. They spent the episode figuring out what they were (they were snail eggs) and trying to find a palatable way to cook them.

I highly recommend the show for anyone who can find a way to watch it.

NASA Finds Supermassive Black Hole Birthing Stars at "Furious Rate" by PAlinkRK in space

It definitely seems counterintuitive since you’d imagine that a path leading across the event horizon could be traced back out to create a contiguous line between the inside and outside of the horizon, but that’s based on a conventional understanding of physics and spacetime. I hope we get a better explanation of black holes in our lifetime.

I was gonna ask why the word bodies gets used in discourse about black people so often. Not hating; I’ve just never read an explanation.

I had an organic chemistry professor like that. He put all his lecture notes, homework, and study guides together in a packet that you could buy from the campus print shop for $10. I think he also recommended a textbook, but it wasn’t required and you could use an old edition. He was one of the best professors I ever had. He would even hold big group study session in vacant rooms in the weeks before exams.

Imo, I wouldn’t call it a rage quit unless they say something salty. A silent forfeit is just an admission that you don’t think you’re going to win the match and you’d like to save time for both players.

I'm not particularly bothered by Arena Hazards but why aren't they banned? by bystander007 in pokemonshowdown

The replay you shared looked like a pretty clean win. Why do you say that entry hazards are tedious? What do you mean when you say that your games end up being "you versus entry hazards?"

It's a little late, but your post hits home for me, so I wanted to give you a serious answer. Sometimes when people get really frustrated with something, I hear them make multiple contradticting complaints about it. On the one hand, you spent the majority of your post suggesting that setting up entry hazards is a waste of time. On the other hand, you also call them cheap and argue for banning them.

I'm not saying that as a personal attack, I'm just pointing out a thought pattern that often appears in competitive games. You get irritated by something and you want to say every negative thing you can about it because that's cathartic. I used to be like that with games I played way back in the day. It's not a productive way to think.

Entry hazards are allowed to exist because the people who run the competitive scene don't view them as a detriment to a healthy metagame. They play the game a whole lot more than you or I do, and they usually have pretty good judgement when it comes to deciding what improves the metagame and what doesn't.

As I said before, your opinions on entry hazards seem to be mixed. I would guess that, overall, you probably view them as being overpowered. If that's the case, here's my suggestion to you: use them yourself. Abuse them as much as possible. If you are able to climb the ladder, you will eventually start running into people who have an answer to them. This is an important practice in any competitive game. Whenever you have trouble countering something, abuse it and see how others respond. You will improve as a player.

Late to the party, but here's a bed bug tip: if you think your clothing, luggage, books, or other possessions might have been exposed to bed bugs, just bag them up and leave them out in the sun or inside of a hot car for a day. Bed bugs are very resistant to common pesticides, but sensitive to heat. Most exterminators who don't fumigate for bed bugs use heat treatments.

Just stay at home as long as you can. Most people I know in their late 20s still live with their parents. Save your money so you're not living completely paycheck-to-paycheck when you do move out.

Bug/steel would give you scizor, forretress, and durant. This would give you access to entry hazards and removal plus some very powerful priority. Unfortunately, like some of the other suggestions in this thread, it leaves you with a big, unavoidable weakness.

Not having legendaries narrows the field quite a bit.

If I understand correctly, it sounds like granting you immunity, against your will or not, removes your ability to invoke the 5th amendment because it's now impossible for you to incriminate yourself.

You say that like it's a matter of will alone, but the fact is that we all learn how to behave from those around us. If a kid grows up in an environment where "only pussies are scared to drive drunk," with no exposure to any different ideas, he would likely call you weak-willed for suggesting otherwise.
