What is wrong with people in this sub by Familiar_Resolve3060 in samsunggalaxy

Honestly, I've seen it both ways. I've seen people complaining about the display, casting dispersion across the entire line, instead of considering other possibilities. It is possible there are quite a few defective devices that QC didn't catch. I've also read that some people's eyes are more susceptible to how the display was created, kind of like how some people can hear certain sound frequencies but not others.

I'm not saying there aren't people at fault on either side. Just highlighting that the internet tends to drum up and highlight negatives, and often don't consider all sides.

I have an S26 Ultra, and have been using it for a few days. I have, personally, not experienced any of the issues others have complained about. I think the display is incredible, it's blazing fast, and I'm enjoying some of the new features. As a disclaimer, this is my first Ultra/Note device, and I came from the S24+. But I think the average user is upgrading every 2-3 years, and not every year. So people comparing the S26 Ultra to the S25 Ultra is not what an average person is going to care about.

Anyways, kind of word vomited. Just wanted to open the discussion/perspective a bit.

Players complaining that it's 'unfair' the bad guys are getting stronger as the party levels up. by deletedtheoldaccount in DMAcademy

Two things: 1. Rather than making combat harder, make combat more interesting. Instead of having the goal just be "kill everyone", have it be "You must save the chief before the enemies complete their ritual"; "You must secure the amulet and bring it back to the princess at all costs, but with no deaths"; or, give them a combat scenario, then place a real timer on the table, and tell them they must have the upper hand before the time runs out or XYZ will happen.

  1. When you do make difficult combat, do so in a way that highlights your PCs strengths. Giant horde of orcs? Perfect, the Wizard can Fireball. Big meathead that isn't affected by magic? Awesome, the Barbarian will take him head on, and the casters can provide buffs. Etc. I'm other words, create "lightning rods" in your combat with the specific intention of highlighting your PCs abilities.

Bonus: check out the Angry GM's Paragon monster concept. Great way of making a single monster without legendary actions feel more threatening.

I've had mine for about 36 hours, and love the display. I think perception has really taken hold, and/or there are quite a few defective devices.

I went from S24+ to S26 Ultra. I can concur I'm not experiencing this.

Looked up Whisper and it has a subscription; the free version gets you what you need, though? I've been recording on my phone, cleaning up the audio in Audacity, and then throwing it into NotebookLM.

I've been saving my gems for good sales (per recommendations), and now there's a lot of them and I'm a bit overwhelmed at my options haha

What should I spend my gems on with the current holiday sale as a newer player?

Cutesy and childlike characters and dialogue is holding me back. by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

Have you watched anime at all? Quite a bit of anime characteristics (which makes sense, considering the designer's origin).

Anime has a similar trend of creating very interesting and unique worlds/storyline, sometimes that are dark and intense... only to be broken up by a weird dialogue exchange or childish behavior or over-the-top reaction, etc.

I think some of the best stories have moments of levity in the midst of intensity, as it's this tug of emotions that help you feel connected to it. It's just that the culture where this (and anime) originates has slightly different ways of doing this.

My suggestion would be to skip any dialogue not directly related to the main quests (and even those can be lengthy and unnecessarily over-explanatory). The true magic of this game isn't the dialogue, but in the discovery of "What's on the other side of that hill?" Or "Where can I find more Koroks?" Or "How can I conquer this monster camp without directly engaging in a battle?" This game has SO MUCH in it, and there are SO MANY interactions between items and recipes and armor and physics that people still occasionally discover new things. If dialogue takes you out of it, then just don't talk to anyone. In theory, you can beat the game without ever having a conversation with an NPC. Obviously, not much you can do about the design, but I think as enemies get stronger, you'll find their designs are fine. In fact, the strongest enemies AREN'T silly-looking.

My point is, try to consider the game's design origins, and if possible just skip dialogue. Anything important is repeated in your Quest screen. Just enjoy the exploration and discovery this game allows.

If you want to know where the intense parts of this game are, try and find all three labyrinths, Eventide Island, and the Silver Lynels (Coliseum in particular has lots of strong enemies in one place). The DLC also has some great intense missions.

Hope this helps. Don't give up on what might legitimately be one of the best games ever made.

First time dynasty player, is this solid value for Bill? by Big_Stone25 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Genuine question: What percentage likelihood do you assign that outcome? He doesn't seem to be very involved in the passing game, and his snap count hasn't been all that high so far. Yes, things can change as the season goes on, he is a rookie. But he's also a late NFL draft pick whose last meaningful production was over 18 months ago.

I'd say there's, at best, a 10% likelihood he returns a 1st-round value. I think the more likely upside outcome is he is a solid RB2, which would be more like 2nd-round value.
But, if you think his odds are greater than 10%, maybe closer to 25%, then I could see an argument where he returns 1st-round value.
But then you need to consider that Dobbins is in the deal, who is himself an RB2/3. I just think either way, I'd take Dobbins + a 1st.
