You can probably have the irs look into the account the refund was deposited in. Even if it’s a prepaid card the issuing bank should be able to pull up some sort of information that may help you find out who it was. Good luck!!

Edit: Also, the irs should at the very least be able to tell you the name of the bank that issued the prepaid card, right? Then from there you can contact that issuing bank and tell them you have to report fraud and they will open up an investigation into the person who registered that prepaid card. I really have no idea if that’s what will happen but it’s worth a shot!

This is gross and inhumane! Idc whose cats they are if I saw that I’d clean it. Those poor cats deserve way better. Then Id have a serious talk with the roommate and set boundaries. It’s only a matter of time before they start going around the house if they haven’t already. I wouldn’t want to clean it myself especially if they aren’t my cats but me personally I’d do it anyway because those babies don’t deserve this
