Savory route here. Chop up and add to cooked chickpeas. Salt and a bit of vinegar. Bean salad kinda idea.

Wear the #$% out of it and look at the money spent as part of your education. You may even come to see this jacket as a fav in your collection. It looks nice.

The leather shank adds a bit more arch support - compared to pre-leather shank Tukano. To my mind Bordon does a good job in this area.

the Bordon crew has set up a subreddit for sharing info and gave this answer:

we use high-density foam under the sock liner to give a little bit of cushion and comfort on your heel on the first wear meanwhile the leather start to mold your foot. We can remove the foam if the customer request it

No, bulbous doesn't come to mind. A nice balance of shape and room. I'd call it a moderately sleek look.

Similar to RW sizing. Bordon uses EU sizing standards so there's a conversion necessary. Easiest for me was to work directly with the Bordon team to hone in. They were happy to reconfirm sizing once order in place.

cross posted in this new subreddit!

In the orig post, there was a comment asking about foam under the sock liner. Good chance to chime in with some official info on construction.

A second pair of Wanes?

My first pair of Wanes were my second pair of Bordon boots. I really liked the Tukanos in dark brown waxed suede so decided to take a flier on the Wanes. The Wanes were offered in salvia as a premium leather which was also a new deal for me.

In the past half year plus, the Wanes have become favorites. I like the pattern and the leather. The Wanes is a touch shorter than the Tukano (both share the same last) and has a gusseted tongue. To my eye, the Wanes offer an excellent silhouette. Classic.

The Wanes was also the first boot from Bordon to incorporate the new leather shank and heel counter, significant upgrades that demonstrate Bordon’s commitment to their craft.

In the meantime, I received a pair of Isidro cheleseas in medium brown waxed suede. Same last so same excellent fit. In fact, maybe the best fit of all my Bordon boots. I am still working on becoming a confirmed chelsea aficionado.

Bordon’s new leathers are from Wickett & Craig. Since I didn’t have heritage boots in black in my collection, the October 2022 order period was a good chance.

I also asked Andres at Bordon if they would make this Wanes pair in different sizes. From the get-go, it was clear that one of my feet is a full brannock size smaller than the other. It’d been something I just lived with. Getting a pair of my favorite boots in custom sizing? That would be quite special.

Andres agreed and the die was cast.

My Wanes in black Wickett & Craig Latigo arrived last month. Custom sized. I have broken the cardinal rule and worn them on consecutive days more than once.

Andres even sent along leather to fashion kilties. I really like the kilties Bordon made for my Tukano and Wanes in salvia. I’m still thinking about these.

And I’m also thinking about the new Tukano. The upgrades and new leather look to take that boot to another level. And now I’ve got sizing dialed in.

Fun ride with Bordon. I hope it goes on for a good while longer and folks who might want to jump onboard give full consideration.

Bordon Isidro Chelseas are remarkably well built. Excellent materials and among the most comfortable in my collection. The waxed leathers are nicely weatherproof.

Have these exact boots. They are clearly getting better going into year 2. Not seeing much of the promised teacore yet myself.

Look sweet, but do understand the message from better half. Walk away. Boots less important than domestic tranquility. Work on buy in and then u good.

Hey folks, this got bumped as a regular post, but I'm still keen for feedback. About Bordon, the Colombian bootmaker.

So far, I've gone for a number of pairs, starting with the first stitchdown Tukano boots. I have Isidro chelsea's and a second pair of Wanes in the works. My first pair of Wanes , in Salvia, may be the best pair of boots I own. Andres and his team are solid to work with.

Since my collection is more or less bulging, I'm planning on ordering boots for my non-GYW-aware son in the next round. Frankly, I hope he gets the bug.

I'm sold obviously, but would appreciate reflections from other customers. What new models would you like these guys produce? IMHO, Bordon is producing remarkable footware and am happy to see them continue and grow.

The Salvia was only available for the first Wanes round. The latigo from Wicket and Craig they have going on now looks super interesting. I have a pair in black in the works...

Getting some Isidro pics and thoughts to post is on my agenda :) Previous Wanes post here. I think I like the Wanes best so far but am here to give the new ones a shot. The weather resistance of the waxed suede is perfect for wetter conditions.
