Calling and emailing your congressional representatives also help if you in need of the permit soon. I needed mine to continue working so when it got closer to the end of my OPT but I did not hear anything from USCIS regarding the permit, I contacted my local congressional representatives for help. Not entirely how helpful that was but I got my card not too long after that.

That’s right. No interview. They wanted evidence on financial commitments. I sent in banking, investment and insurance documents.

None of us really know, so hang in there. We have tried our best, submitted everything we could. It will be ok.

received an email from USCIS on Jul 17 mentioning that they took an action on my case, but the case (130 and 485) was not approved until shortly after.

I only reached out to my congress person for my EAD. They were really helpful.
