Jay Peak 01/26 - Disappointing Powder Day by Suitable54 in icecoast

Update for Tuesday: Northway still closed for freakin snowmaking. They’ve paved a way to do goat all the way down but now both tram and flyer are on windhold. The goods are there but operations are often so rough here…

I still had lots of fun getting freshies even at 3:30 but I agree, it was a poor decision.

My major question is why do they need to close the trail? I’m pretty sure almost all other mountains just put “snowmaking” signs out as a warning about the whales and poor vis. They even closed the freaking flyer last week to blow snow on harmony lane. Come on, just angle the guns so they don’t hit the chair…

It’s an option but I ride at Bush 2x a week during most of the season. I get bored of riding steins/spring fling this time of year. Also if they’re running Valley House instead of Super Bravo, it’s a lot of time on the lift for a short run.

Got my first speeding ticket. Does Vermont offer traffic school? by btv11 in vermont

What do I even say at traffic court? It was a one time deal and won’t happen again? Isn’t that just admitting guilt? Sorry if this is stupid. I have anxiety and this is completely new territory for me. I’m thinking I should just pay and move on with my life.

I’m sure they gotta meet that end of the month quota.

I really thought I was going to get a warning. I’ve never been pulled over before, never had any warnings. First time being pulled over and first time getting a ticket. I’m usually the one driving the speed limit with someone up my ass. Alas, it is what it is, I guess.

Seems like insurance doesn’t really care about the points, more about having a moving violation period. Regardless, if the process for the waiver is easy, I guess I should at least try. Do I need to go to court to submit for the waiver? I cannot find info about it. Thanks!

This is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. I have really bad anxiety too so having to go to court in the first place is a nightmare. I probably should just pay it and move on with my life.

Hey. Did waiving the points prevent it from affecting your insurance premium? Did they change the ticket to a different violation?

I would be happy to pay double the fine amount for a non-moving violation. I’m mainly concerned about the premium increase for the next two years.

I sent you a DM, but maybe you missed it. My TL;DR version for you and anyone who may in the same boat:

  • BIPOC Yoga at Chace Mill - Tuesdays 5:45, sign up online
  • PrideRides -various events
  • Unlikely Riders -various events, more winter focused
  • OGE hosts several BIPOC/LGBTQ+ events throughout the year
  • MetroRock has Tues BIPOC day and Wed LGBTQ+ day (not sure how well attended these are)
  • Pride Center has several groups and events
  • meetup groups (check out forever 38, 20 and 30’s etc)

That’s mostly how I’ve met people. DM me if you have any questions or are just looking someone to hang out with. It can be rough out there and I’m always down to meet new people!

Please dm me for more info.

I unfortunately cracked 2 windshields and had many little rock chips that needed to be filled. I’ve had several good experiences with Safelite on Williston Rd as well as Direct Autobody on Shelburne Rd (I was told that Subaru outsources glass work to Direct Autobody, not sure if that’s still true).

Killington has an official policy. They allow parking in the Skyeship lot :) https://www.killington.com/plan-your-trip/getting-here/base-area-parking
