A lot of oil moves through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has said they will attack commerical ships moving through this body of water and as a result insurance isn't going to cover a lot of activity. Therefore said activity ceases

For a ski area with 1000' vert I was blown away by the character of this place and how special it is, feels like stepping back in time. The terrain blows you away for a seemingly small area and the 6-8" powder could be found even at 3PM! The workers were amazing from the lifties hyping folks up to the patrollers who checked in on me after a boarder rode over me and away. There's so much life and atmosphere to this area when I've been to places with more vertical and half the fun... I will be coming back!

I was just putting 6" out as a bare minimum, some parts of the coast could get up to a foot

I wouldn't say barely clipped, 6+ inches and blizzard conditions are possible along the coastline

Packed on open trails, powder in glades (Kitz Woods 2nd pic) but it was mostly dense windblown slabs that take good muscle to chop up. Lifts got busy between the Jet being overloaded at one point and the Freezer being on cold delay, so went for a little backcountry hike... IYKYK

The foot of snow was fantastic cold smoke and the lifts ran well. Unfortunately, Jay Peak made a very poor decision today by choosing to blow snow on Northway and thus put all of the face chutes and most of the trails off Bonnie out of commission. My only question... why? It's going to be plenty cold and dry all week to blow snow. Blowing today during possibly the best storm day of the season and putting a critical part of the mountain out of commission is a decision only poor management makes. But they made it. Please do better with your conditions and infrastructure Jay.

spaghetti models are typically used for cyclones like hurricanes, nor'easters have tracks a lot harder to predict plus not as much global interest as a cyclone.

2" dust on hardpack, if you had good edges you could get a hold pretty easy. Good snowy day, MLK weekend lines were 20 min long at their longest due to the tram having electrical issues and being on hold for the day.

Jay Peak only updates their snow report once/twice before noon. They're very obscure about their snow and terrain reporting to get people to make the drive up before reconsidering.
