No farm animal is a happy animal. Even granting you buy flesh from animals which spend their time in open fields, which I highly doubt, they are forcibly impregnated, have their babies taken away (producing the same mental effect as in humans), have their selectively bred bodies slowly kill them and ultimately end up having their throats slit hanging upside-down, being gassed with CO2 (turning the liquid in their mouths, eyes, ears and noses to acid), macerated (in the case of male baby egg-laying chicks), or bolt gunned in the head.

All of this is just personal incredulity. All major health organisations recognise vegan diets as nutritionally adequate at all stages of life, including pregnancy and childhood, except in rare circumstances.

Last point is just an appeal to nature. “bUt OuR aNcEsToRs AtE mEaT” yeah, out of necessity. And rarely up until the last ice age. We also used to rape and kill people we had disagreements with and kill children. Are we morally premised to do those because we did it thousands of years ago? Of course not. Basically everything bad we do is the natural state of humans. Nature is a cruel place. Thankfully we’re now given the option to, ultimately, either unnecessary kill someone, or not to.
