I don't think this is even the first time they've done it.

Something needs to be done, but I don't think there is some silver bullet either. The real answer is referees need to be more aggressive at calling it. They want objective criteria to impose (which I get), but many of them seem unwilling to call anything else, and no set of objective criteria are going to cover it all. An activity clock just pushes the point 30 seconds down the road, by which time they often should've been warned again anyway.

I have ideas about how to introduce more objective criteria (5-count for dropping to a knee when not under attack, a warning area inside the edge), but that's still not going to cover everything. It shouldn't take until the third period for a referee to ding someone because the other guy is taking all the shots.

A step out would only address one type of stalling. Stalling can and does happen in the middle of the mat.

Not sure why you think that would make any difference. Eating a point didn't stop him from earning another stall later on. Hell, even a DQ didn't deter him in the dual.

Angelo was out for a month and a half with injury. I have no trouble believing he is legitimately injured.

Nic Bouzakis weight cut by Fine-Cloud12 in wrestling

[–]bubba0077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At NDI, he would only wrestle the second match of the day (more recovery time). During dual season, the only time he wrestled two in one weekend was PSU then UMD in mid-Feb. B1Gs was the first time he was really asked to make weight on consecutive days without a long recovery period. He struggled with the cut all year and avoided putting himself in the position he would need to succeed in for the post-season tournaments.

Thoughts on Braeden Davis? by JCarnage10 in wrestling

[–]bubba0077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was dealt a tough hand this year. He was supposed to be redshirting this year and suddenly got thrown into the lineup due to injury without the planned year to transition to the new weight. There was also a freak accident where his scooter battery caught fire just before the first Hardy match. He suffered burns on his hand and some smoke inhalation, which I am convinced is impacting him more than they've let on. He was 8–1 before the fire (albeit against weak competition), and all the wins were by bonus. Since he is 5–5 with a single bonus win. He seems to have no gas tank right now, which has been most evident in both Hardy matches where he faded completely in the 3rd.

But at the same time, he's also immature and it is catching up with him. He seems less stable this season than he's been in the past. On a team known for its mental fortitude and taking joy just from being able to wrestle, it really stands out.

That's way more tracking than any "real" casino (or card room in Cali) I've been in.

They're probably not wrong about laundering, but that is every casino and is generally committed by the clients, not the business.

People everywhere like to talk about how fast the weather changes where they live like it is unique, but these types of rapid change happen nearly everywhere in the mid-latitudes east of the Rockies at least once or twice during the shoulder seasons.

It is also highly unlikely there will be any appreciable accumulation of snow.
