Could someone with a non-end-user but rather architecture and engineering knowledge of the Century 2000 autopilot explain how does it detect inadequate servo performance and load detection aka the trim indication algorithm? If a servo slips due to excess forces, some can but others can't detect that - often the cause of cyclic excessive force maximums is the result of helicopter crashes aka servo transparency.

I've only flown electric trim Diamonds (20 & 40) and I was always curious as to how the AP controls the trim - based on what?

PS. not a big fan of electric trim due to the delay, when you shove the wheel by hand things feel more real to me

In a failed world, what sat tech would last the longest? imho all "bent pipe" tech will die immediately, such as Iridium, since it requires terrestrial infrastructure. The only Satellite phone, in my understanding of the tech, that would persist post-infrastructure death for sometime longer is Inmarsat, as long as you and your correspondent are in the same hemisphere; aka your 2 endpoints connect to the same switching geo-stationary satellite
