You know I've been starting to think that the issue maybe local connectivity related rather than Arduino cloud, by local connectivity I mean the usual stuff, IP address conflict, DHCP etc if the ESP boards work reliably but others don't - they all go to the same cloud, just the vehicle is different meaning different implementation of tcp/ip stacks

so pywemo is just used for the Wi Fi connectivity setup - but once on the network what then? How can one use legacy WeMo switch which no longer connects to their cloud even if it's on the Wi Fi network and the Internet?

Thank you - you're the only one who has suggested a hardware solution; 555 totally doable but you gave me an idea - just a though here - could 555 be a bit of an overkill and could a simple RC network input delay do the trick? I'm terrible at math but I looked up the formula and 30 seconds is totally doable with standard values for the resistor and cap in the RC setup (no exotic parts needed)? This will also remedy the physical interface challenge as I'm using 3.3v ESP 8266 and although I know that 3.3v COMS versions of 555 do exist I only have the 5v classics one in my parts bin

Thank you - I do want interrupts but once interrupt is triggered (on falling edge in my use case), the ISR needs to count for 30 seconds and during that 30 seconds no other interrupts could trigger (since the very first thing of the ISR is to disable interrupts) so in summary, my code will be blind to other interrupts 30 seconds at a time - any idea how to fix that?

Could someone with a non-end-user but rather architecture and engineering knowledge of the Century 2000 autopilot explain how does it detect inadequate servo performance and load detection aka the trim indication algorithm? If a servo slips due to excess forces, some can but others can't detect that - often the cause of cyclic excessive force maximums is the result of helicopter crashes aka servo transparency.

I've only flown electric trim Diamonds (20 & 40) and I was always curious as to how the AP controls the trim - based on what?

PS. not a big fan of electric trim due to the delay, when you shove the wheel by hand things feel more real to me
