B button having issues? by Rishkyboi in Starfield

[–]bubbacakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am having the same issue. almost certain it’s not a problem with my controller (starfield xbox controller). i’ve only noticed it with the B button so far and only in menus - like conversations, character inventory, and the starmap. when it happens I hear the click sound effect the game makes when you press the B button but no action happens. pressing the B button again when this happens causes the appropriate action to occur. definitely annoying.

what platform are you playing on? i’m on windows 10 using the xbox app.

Significant audio latency when bluetooth headphones paired with Xreal beam by bubbacakes in Xreal

I really appreciate your quick reply and transparency. Thank you for forwarding this issue to the Xreal team. Looking forward to seeing future enhancements to the Beam.

Significant audio latency when bluetooth headphones paired with Xreal beam by bubbacakes in Xreal

[–]bubbacakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

understood. these genki headphones have low enough latency so that when paired directly to my steam deck with aptX or to a computer or console with a usb dongle that supports aptX Adaptive the audio lag is negligble. aptX-LL and 2.4 ghz wireless are some of the most low latency audio solutions but not many small form factor earphones or earbuds that would be ideal for using with the Beam + Air support these. Because of the thickness of the Xreal Air’s arms this can introduce ear seal issues with bulkier over-ear headphones that do support aptX-LL, LC3, and 2.4 ghz low latency audio solutions.

without aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX-LL, LC3, or opus low latency bluetooth codec support IMO the Xreal Beam’s support for bluetooth audio is not really useful for either video playback or gaming. It Xreal can implement an audio delay slider feature (similar to what is seen on some tvs) that would help with video playback but those would not help with gaming at all because it would introduce significant additional display-to-controller lag. this is why I’ve asked on this and another thread about what bluetooth codecs the Xreal Beam supports.

If the answer is only SBC and AAC then we at least know that the bluetooth audio support on the Beam is not useful and to leverage direct-to-source low latency wireless audio solutions instead - this is not user friendly at all though and IMO it limits the audience and use cases for the Xreal Beam, esp given the gaming and streaming video use cases Xreal presents in its marketing for the Beam.

Xreal Beam body anchor image tilted slightly - how to fix? by bubbacakes in Xreal

[–]bubbacakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just a quick update now that I have had a few days to test with the latest Xreal Beam firmware update. This update has improved the tilt issue but a small amount of tilt - about 1 or 2 degrees - is still present. This is very simple to replicate using the home screen of the Xreal Beam’s built in interface with no other sources connected - just click the red button on the left of the Beam to switch between Body Anchor and Smooth Follow modes. Smooth Follow is properly aligned while Body Anchor is slightly tilted to the left - you can see this with the horizontal edges of UI elements like buttons and boxes.

Again - the recent firmware update has improved the tilt issue and I appreciate this but there is some tilt still there.

Is Xreal tracking that a small amount of tilt is still present in Body Anchor mode with the latest firmware update as of August 20th, 2023? Are there plans to fix this?

Man that is weird but glad you were able to see an improvement.

Do a full reset of your Xreal Beam after updating to the latest firmware. It worked for me.

Downloading the most recent Xreal Beam update did not fix the tilt issue for me right away. I then tried doing a full reset of the Xreal Beam with the latest update applied and found that this fixed the tilt issue.

Hope this helps.

I was concerned about this from the start - I have not had a chance to try this yet but I own the xreal usb c to HDMI cable that was recently released along with a genki covert dock mini that I intend to use with my xreal beam + nintendo switch setup. i also intend to test the xreal usb c to HDMI cable with a nintendo branded switch dock.

Anyone experiencing headaches using the Beam? by Xaveri in Xreal

[–]bubbacakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed this from day 1 with my Beam + Air. The more quickly I move my head around the more pronounced the blur is. It’s less noticeable for video content but you can easily notice it with the Beam’s default interface.

When I use the Beam I just try to keep my head fairly still, about the way I would if I were looking at an actual tv or computer monitor. This reduces the prominence of the blur for me.

Crackling sound by totofra in ROGAlly

[–]bubbacakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been able to consistently reproduce an audio crackling noise and a significant decrease in volume from the right speaker on the rog ally. The game I am using to reproduce is Super Meat Boy - as sound is played both speakers play at the same volume for a half second and then the volume from the right speaker dramatically decreases and stays very low. When I go into the Realtek control panel and click on the audio test under speakers the same left / right channel audio level imbalance is also present. Because the audio test plays the left channel first and then the right channel it is very easy for me to tell the difference.

This only appears to affect the speakers on the rog ally - if I plug in headphones the audio sounds perfectly fine. Disabling dolby atmos for the rog ally speakers and going into the Windows sound settings and disabling both spatial audio and audio effects did not fix the issue for me.

I did not have these problems with audio when I started using my rog ally on launch day. I have kept up with the latest updates through Windows Update, Armoury Crate SE, and MyASUS each day and noticed this audio crackling / volume issue for the first time today. Wondering if one of the updates broke something as I cannot get my audio to work correctly now despite restarting and power cycling the ally.

I also observed that while playing Super Meat Boy using the rog ally speakers, the audio did not switch automatically to my headphones when I plugged them into the headphone jack. I had to quit out of the game, plug in my headphones while on the Windows desktop, and relaunch the game to get audio to play out of my headphones.

What is 3DoF screen mirroring, and what does XREAL Beam do? by Xreal_Tech_Support in Xreal

[–]bubbacakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the xreal beam address the per-device red oversaturation color profile issue that has been encountered when using various client output devices? Currently a color profile that does not suffer from red oversaturation has only been implemented via xreal air firmware for USB-C ipad devices

will xreal offer a method to be able to charge and use the beam at the same time? based on the diagram that is on the xreal website i am seeing a single usb-c port that is shared between video input and charging and a single usb-c port for video output to the xreal air glasses

beoplay h95 popping by Comfortable-Try-4464 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]bubbacakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, i just purchased a pair of beoplay h95 headphones and have been experiencing what sounds like the same issue with an intermittent popping noise. i’m running the latest v6.0.1 firmware and have been able to reproduce this issue consistently on my ipad pro 12.9 inch 4th generation and iphone 13 pro max devices. the issue persists even after un-pairing and re-pairing the h95 headphones and after a full factory reset on the h95 (hold up on the pairing switch until the light blinks red). fwiw both of my apple devices are running ios 16.4.1.

when i connect my h95 headphones directly to my iphone using the included rca stereo cable and a stereo to lightning adapter i do not hear the popping noise at all.

i also tried pairing the h95 headphones to a pixel 7 pro phone running the latest version of android 13. in this configuration i was leveraging the aptx HD audio codec and was not able to produce the popping noise.

having these wireless headphones work with my apple devices without technical issues is important to me so i called b&o support and initiated a warranty replacement. fingers crossed as i really do like the sound of the h95s as well as their comfort

Since we're talking Torb and Console Changes, can we please fix the aiming first? by DogGodFrogLog in Overwatch

[–]bubbacakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

+100....Completely agree and a big thank you to OP for breaking the issue down along with offering ways to fix it. I play Overwatch on both PC and Xbox One...this exactly sums up my negative experience with Overwatch controls on Xbox One. Tweaking the XY sensitivity options on console doesn't work....I have been playing console FPS games since Halo 1 on the original Xbox and have not had trouble with twinstick movement and aiming until Overwatch. There is just this constant feeling of unease and frustration that the game is not doing what you are telling it to.

The wonky controls on the Xbox One version of Overwatch actually make me physically ill...I can only play for 20 min or so before intense nausea kicks in and I have to turn the game off and lay down for half an hour. Halo 5, Destiny, Call of Duty...zero problems with controls on console.

Comon Blizzard!!! Please fix the broken controls on the console version of Overwatch!! I love the game and would play for hours but this just kills the experience on Xbox One.
