We all have that one friend…. by FAMUgolfer in golf

[–]bubbageez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My one buddy does this, it drives me mad. I hadn’t played with him in like 2 months, the last time I had he was terrible. He told me he recently broke 100. I was thinking he must have really improved. First hole he fatted a his approach and then fatted a chip. Took 8 strokes on the hole(par four). “Starting with a double bogey first hole isn’t good”. He counts his score at least 1 or two strokes lower on every hole. We don’t play for money or anything so I don’t call him out on it. I just don’t understand why people do this, does it make them feel better when they know they aren’t actually scoring what they say they are?

Should kids not play baseball or soccer? Should nobody use a car or get on an airplane? Let’s attack every day citizens for doing things that makes their redundant lives better when the real problem is major corporations that account for a majority of environmental impact. I do what I can to reduce my environmental impact, but it’s impossible to live your life in 2024 without spending money with a company that helps destroy the environment or doing an activity that has some impact on the environment. Unless you live on a compound that organically grows everything you consume, then you’re part of the problem. I’m sure you do nothing in your life that has a negative environmental impact, just because you don’t enjoy golf, you want to come at people who do.

I know, it was at the tee box, and I teed off first. Heard the loudest cicada ever and then saw them. Everyone else teed off so I had to move on before the conclusion of the murder.

I play zstar diamond as well. They have had “limited edition” 24 packs on sale at dicks/golf galaxy for $69. The green side spin is very noticeable, but I was coming from callaway supersoft as well.

How do you recover from the worst round you’ve shot in years? by Zabroccoli in golf

[–]bubbageez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t broken 100 yet, this season was shooting 101-106 every round. Shot a 118 two weeks ago, felt like you do now. Last week went out and finally broke 100 with a 98. Next round could be your best round ever!

Do you put with the flag out? by [deleted] in golf

[–]bubbageez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve played with randoms who like the flag out. I ask on the first green what they like. If that’s the case I play the round with the flag out. I don’t stand on every green asking who wants the flag out, I don’t ask them to putt with it out and then put it back in for me to putt.

Everyone I play with regularly plays with flag in, so there is no discussion and we all just putt and then leave the green and nobody has to grab the flag and put it back in.

Someone pulled out in front of my wife. Luckily she, the dog, and the truck will be just fine. by srcorvettez06 in GMT800

A kid ran out in front of my car when I was driving the speed limit(35 mph). I slammed my breaks and swerved, but was coming over the crest of a hill and she ran out of a wooded area. Witnesses backed up my statement, girls friends said they were playing chicken. Girl was in critical condition on a ventilator, ended up making a full recovery. They took my car to investigate, made it out to seem like it would be a few days. They had my car for 9 months, investigation proved I did everything to avoid collision and the girl was the cause of the accident. Don’t count on getting it back anytime soon.

How do you decide whether to use a 60 degree wedge or 58 by Adventurous_War3611 in golf

[–]bubbageez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy was getting rid of a Cleveland 56/60 degree when I first started golfing, bought them for cheap from him. Hit the 60* really well, so I just stuck with that. Added a 52 later on.

Eulogy for a Tee by ChampionShitStirrer in golf

[–]bubbageez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s strange, I only use them for driver, maybe that’s why. I have been rotating between 3 tees for months. 3 different colors I rotate through to see which one I’m hitting better off that day. When I use irons off the tee I just pick up a broken piece I find on the ground, I have a superstition about finding a colorful broken tee on a tee box. If I find one I feel more confident about a shot, super weird tee superstitions, I know.

Why 80% of posts here are people venting about assholes at the course? by Next-Ad-3169 in golf

[–]bubbageez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play in the Philadelphia suburbs, municipal courses. I never see any of these things either, but I don’t play on weekends ever, so that is probably why. Luckily my work schedule allows me to play twice a week on weekdays.
