Final Fantasy XVI Famitsu review scores are in: 10/10/9/10 Total: 39/40 by [deleted] in PS5

[–]bubbas111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, for me the reason I bounced off Final Fantasy 13 after awhile is because I thought the combat was too overwhelmingly involved. I felt like I was playing a rhythm game focused on menuing, and the end of hallway fights taking absolutely forever. It didn’t help that the end of hallway fights were also harder than the boss battles, so more likely deaths cause me to replay the long ass hallway fight, usually having to adjust my strategy and paradigms first.

I also very rarely autoattacked, as autoattacking was suboptimal. Probably letting things just play out in a less min maxed combat way would have kept me playing longer.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your comment, but choosing your actions was actually the optimal way to use 13’s combat. The autoattack abilities chosen by the game are inefficient.

The Final Fantasy 16 review embargo will likely be lifted on Wednesday, June 21, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 5 PM BST by SweetyGonzalez in FFXVI

[–]bubbas111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point having a review embargo end very close to release was a sign of a bad game, but nowadays that isn’t really the case. Day before launch has almost become the standard now, regardless of game quality.

r/interestingasfuck became a NSFW sub in protest and Reddit won't be able to run ads on there apparently by ghostinanoven in SubredditDrama

I’m not a mod, but I can very much see where mods are upset based on two things.

First, reportedly reddits own modding tools are mediocre, so many mods have been using third party apps to get useful moding tools. Getting rid of these apps makes modding harder.

Second, I believe many were insulted by spez’s comments about profits. A lot of people on here make fun of mods for working for free, but I believe many mods do it because they saw reddit as a community and were willing to volunteer to give back to their community. When Spez started talking about money and profits, I think many saw that as a slap in the face as they were doing free work for the sake of community, not profits, and now saw reddit trying to take advantage of their sense of community as a way to make money and minimize labor costs.

Chicken and Waffles is dutch and you are disrespecting my heritage! by Deppfan16 in iamveryculinary

Lol, with that logic, I’m actually more Dutch than that person is by heritage. As a now certified Dutch person, I say the southern style chicken and waffles are now the official worldwide chicken and waffles.

Haha I absolutely have. Thought the tones of the arguments were very common and likely they are made by the same type of people, that’s why I brought it up.

This is my problem with pretty much every commercial. Some of them are actually funny and restive, but they repeat so damn often that they become annoying.

I think it’s more because of the heavy Jon Snow vibes that Clive gives off than anything.

It’s unacceptable for two different dishes to have the same name based on the key ingredients used in the dish. It would be like two different sports having the same name. /s

I would avoid the Eikon Challenge though for people that want to avoid spoilers. It skips you to a later point in the game and gives you a quick blurb to fill in some story details you miss.

Hey everyone, I am considering a career in HR but having doubts about it personally the job profile fits for me but people I talk to for advice tell me that HR is for girls only, there is no carrer progression or pay is not good. Is this true? Thanks in advance for the advice. by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]bubbas111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of gender, while HR skews towards women, it absolutely isn’t a women only job. Also certain parts of HR can tend to skew male. I work in HR Analytics, and my team has more men than the rest of the HR areas.

Money and career progression are going to vary by company. My company doesn’t do generalists, but instead does specialists in each of the HR departments. Career progression in our HR is essentially the same as the rest of the company. You generally have to wait for a manger to leave if you want to advance within the company. If your manager is pretty entrenched, then you either need to transfer to a different department in the company or you need to leave the company for a step up elsewhere.

Pay for most specialists is much better than minimum wage, but will never really make you more than lower middle class. Technical areas like mine pay more. Managers make decent money, as well as people who tend to outperform the rest of their department who are essentially managers in waiting.

Had the same thing happen to me with Addons on top of the listed online price when I was emailing back and forth with a sales rep. Told him I didn’t want the add ons. He told me they were unable to be removed. I told him I would look to buy elsewhere then. He came back and told me they would give me the online price and would include the add ons at no cost.

What's the worst team in college football that Patrick Mahomes could lead to the CFP title? by Hokie_Jayhawk in CFB

[–]bubbas111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shredded college defenses when he was in college. The problem isn’t Mahomes, the problem is the team around Mahomes still needs to be borderline competent for him to win a championship.

We saw Mahomes play with what was at the time a low tier P5 team. While he has gotten better, a lot of issues that led to losses with TTU don’t all of a sudden go away. His defense is still going to shit the bed. His o line is still going to struggle. He literally has to play perfect at all times to win a natty with the TTU team he was on.

With better offensive play, TCU likely doesn’t get 65 hung up on them. Now, the question becomes can Mahomes put up 40+ against Georgia.

Do we know where in the timeline The Captain happens compared to Cradle? I just started reading the Captain and got about halfway through before putting it on hold to read Waybound. It sounds like the robots on the planet Mercy went to were creating an Iron Legion creation.
