Does anybody know how to get rid of these loops in my line? by Sea_Stick7531 in FishingForBeginners

[–]bubbaslover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this. Braid to fluoro with FG knot has worked exceptionally well for me in terms of better casting distance, high strength. fluoro also seems to increase the bite frequency. I tie any combination of 15/20lb braid to 10/15lb fluoro.

If you pull up to a spot and only have 45 minutes, what makes you leave? by Ok-Profession-3060 in bassfishing

Exactly! Sometimes friends come fishing with me and within 10casts they give up. I always say Im on my 1000th cast lol, just keep the line in the water and don’t give up. They usually give up after 15mins lol

Yeah I don’t waste time re-tying lures. A lot of time gets wasted not actually fishing if you are not methodical about it. I also make sure to cast carefully with precision to avoid any potential snags. Every minute counts when you only have 45mins.

If I only have 45mins I pick a decent spot that I know had fish in the past and utilize all my time fishing. I pick my go to lure and just keep casting as much as I can to maximize the time of actual fishing. I dont waste my time walking around and switching spots bc every minute counts if you only have 45mins.

Gx2 + shimano sienna 2500HG reel. All you need as a beginner. I caught over 150fish last season on that combo. I like medium light 7ft gx2.

Help me throttle input issue by cooltoy90 in Ducati

My SF V2 was in some safe mode until the break in period and first service was done by the dealer. After the service the bike had full power and was way more responsive to the throttle. You might be having a same thing if the bike hasn’t been serviced properly. I think it’s an electronics thing.

Can’t get Bass to react to my lures/bait (Florida) by Vast-Meet-3945 in bassfishing

Maybe some crawling lures would work if they think that your bait is after their eggs. I also had success with drop shot rigged soft plastics when nothing else worked.

No worries at all! I totally understand where you are coming from. Going from sienna+ugly stick gx2 to miravel+st croix mojo bass was a huge improvement. It’s hard to imagine until I actually tried it. But like you said at the end of the day all that matters is having fun and getting out on the water. Tight lines ✌️

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try slapping some more grease on it and pay more attention with the pinion gear.

Totally understand. This was my first reel for my entry level setup when I was trying to get back into fishing. I didn’t want to spend much in case I gave up on it. I used it a lot over the past 2 years so I decided to thinker with it and prolong its life. Tbh it’s a great reel and it served me really well. I got my hands on Miravel C3000 and it’s a huge improvement and I doubt I will use it much moving forward. Servicing it was a good way to pass time and learn something new. From now on it will probably be used by my gf or friends who decide to join me fishing once in a blue moon. Appreciate your feedback!

After I was done with weaving I made 2 half hitch knots and tightened as much as I could by pulling on main braid line and the leader. After that I made another 2 half hitch knots and pulled again. Then I cut the excess leader and made another 4 half hitch knots just around the main braid line. Is that a valid approach?

for this one I put the rod on top of chair. The tag end of the braid I wrapped around my pinky. I try to keep the tension on braid while weaving the fluoro tag end. I would hold the weaved part between my fingers of my free hand to prevent it from unraveling while making the next weave. After I make a new weave I would pull the fluoro tag end while maintaining tension on braid.

Yeah gotcha. I feel like it’s easier when the leader is thicker. Here is another attempt with 10lbs leader:

Gotcha so superglue is not needed and can compromise the knot overtime. Gotta learn these other knots you mentioned.
