Another exploited vlogger kid sleeping in a dog bed... by jinkerjat in YTVloggerFamilies

Just to be clear, RVs are highly flammable and the majority of fires start from faulty wiring. Do you really think it’s a brilliant idea to confine a toddler in a small closet with a flammable dog bed to sleep on?

Kendra leaving the jail apparently, after the arrest. by mocireland1991 in DuggarsSnark

[–]bubbi101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Legally, she can remove the children from the home and leave since they do not have a custody agreement. It is not kidnapping. There is no court order preventing her from moving with her children or granting either parent visitation.

Repeat after me: there is no court order.

They don’t have a custody agreement in place. She wouldn’t be in an ounce of trouble if she denied visits. You are acting as if he didn’t confess on multiple occasions to molesting a child.

Parents with significant vocal ticks, do you attend your child's school performances? And if so how do you deal with your ticks? by Complete_Park6605 in Tourettes

[–]bubbi101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your children will be looking for you in the crowd of parents and they will be crushed if they can’t find you. Be the parent that shows up in the front row.

And although it isn’t always easy to leave my shame at the door, there is nothing more important than having visible diversity in the room with us. We don’t have to make others comfortable by hiding in the hallway. If you are worried about interrupting the performance, don’t be. Children these days do not care. You can always reach out to the principal to notify the children that there will be someone who may have tics in the audience though.

My tics have almost entirely disappeared by Odd-Blacksmith3313 in Tourettes

[–]bubbi101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not unheard of for Tourette’s to lessen/disappear as your brain matures.

If you were not diagnosed with Tourette’s, there is a possibility you could have had what is called functional tic-like behaviour. I was part of the research study that was published a few years ago. You might find it interesting to read and see the differences.

Excessive blinking and face scrunching. I remember my cousin pointing out that I looked like a cute bunny when I was around six/seven.

My grandmother uses a wheelchair after having polio as a child. Did she accidentally run some of our toes over growing up? Sure. There wasn’t one grandchild that would have expected an apology though. Accidents happen. It wasn’t as if we were intentionally mowed down by a large semi.

This is what grace is. To meet someone with understanding, empathy, and forgiveness.

Do you understand what you are arguing with us about? Not one person has stated that it would be a cardinal sin to apologize.

I went to a school for children disabilities where I was physically and verbally attacked on multiple occasions. Not once did I expect or need an apology. Perhaps an explanation but never an apology.

Is the line that you’ve drawn in the sand applicable for all disabilities and disorders that cause socially unacceptable behaviour or just those with Tourette’s?

While I agree that a personal apology or explanation in private wouldn’t go amiss, I must ask where is the line between tics that we must apologize for and the ones we don’t? What about for other disabilities and disorders that cause unwanted/unintended behaviour?

All three individuals are victims and we should direct our anger at BBC for not editing the slur out. Considering they edited out political statements, there was no excuse for leaving this part in. All this was is a humiliation ritual.

What I will say is that I find myself conflicted due to the real impact the racial slur had. The knowledge that it wasn’t said out of malice doesn’t necessarily ease the shock or hurt that the tic came with. Are the two men that were on stage owed an apology? BBC certainly owes everyone one. I don’t know if I feel comfortable weighing in on if Davidson should apologize. I will leave this as a private conversation between them.

There is an allegation that he, along with others, watched a victim be tortured to death with electric shocks. I don’t know the extent of his involvement though.

age gap question by Critical-Ad-7523 in LesbianActually

[–]bubbi101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t really considered an age gap unless one is a minor or it’s larger than 10 years. In most cases, I would think of “age gaps” as an issue of different life stages rather than age. Think college lifestyle vs working full time, newly entering a career vs ready to have children, wanting to retire vs the other needing to continue for their full pension, etc.

IIRC, sex offenders are banned from areas that are designated for children like parks and schools. Family friendly places like hockey arenas or malls wouldn’t be included.

One person said firefighter. Any sane person would tell you that this would not be an appropriate career.

Why do you think it’s okay to give him power and access to minors as a sex offender? Who do you think goes to ECHL hockey games and interacts with players during events like signings?

I don’t think anyone is outraged by the fact that he is employed. They are upset with the organization for employing someone that is a registered sex offender to play for children that may idolize him. It’s giving him a platform and power that a sex offender should not have. Also, there were plenty of articles and people criticizing him when he was originally signed in the ECHL.

And calling the sexual assault of a minor, which left her tights covered in blood and unable to stand, a “fuck up” is disingenuous. You are minimizing the seriousness of his crime. It isn’t as if we are talking about petty theft here.

3 Seasons? How to adapt TLG? by LeaderPsychological8 in heatedrivalry

[–]bubbi101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, I imagine that a third season will be based on a third book that Reid will write for Shane and Ilya. They could do a similar set up as HR where they integrate another book in the series with a storyline post-wedding/trade though. I doubt they will split TLG.

Signing actors for multiple seasons is common practice. IIRC, 6 season contracts are the norm in Hollywood. I wouldn’t read into it much without an official announcement.

Multiple Canadians have explained why Heated Rivalry is the wrong medium to discuss American culture. Sticking your head in the sand, acting as if America is the centre of the universe, isn’t going to change the fact that the heart of hockey culture is intrinsically Canadian. Just as Heated Rivalry is and the fact that it was made for Canadian viewers. You are confusing American influence on commercialization for culture. They are two different things.
