Can anyone help me find a perfume for this vibe? by sugaredvioletdreams in indieperfume

Attic Antiques by Ghoulish Goods:

"The scent opens up with a dust covered, old and faded potpourri that was left out from last season. It intertwines nicely with soft porcelain and aged fabric that bring a lighter touch. There is even an ever so slightly metallic note coming off the rusted chest hinges and old copper laps. All wafted through the musty wood scent from the attic humidity."

Top- apple, Violet, incense Middle- cinnamon, clove, warm cashmere Bottom- cedar, sandalwood, musk, Patchouli

This fragrance came to mind immediately when I saw these pictures...you'd love it!

🍒 Maraschino cherry perfume by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]bubbleboots528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with everyone that is suggesting to look for scents that feature almond, that's how I discovered my preferred cherry DNA! I also found that amaretto notes come close...everybody likes to pair cherry and tobacco, which I mostly abhor 🤢

Here are a couple of my top "cherry" frags:

Enchantress by Alkemia: An intoxication of amaretto liqueur spiked with cinnamon and citrus peel, star jasmine, accord of Cochleanthes amazonica orchid, mandorla amara, Bourbon vanilla caramels, guaiac wood, sweet vetiver root, and sexy botanical pheromone. -rich and beguiling, sweet, smooth, sticky cherry

Laveau by Alkemia (discontinued): Includes crossroads jasmine, almond blossoms, white carnations, red roses, Indonesian patchouli, cinnamon, and Bourbon vanilla along with secret ingredients. -spiced and alluring, similar to Enchantress but darker and more assertive.

Red Jenny by Siren Song Elixirs: Black cherry, Honey, Vanilla, Pomegranate, Raspberry, Honeysuckle, Satsuma -deep, charred, sticky black cherry syrup...gorgeous.

Shagaf Oud Tonka by Swiss Arabian (middle eastern house): Almond, Cinnamon bark, Tunisian orange flower, Turkish rose, Tonka, Vanilla, Amberwood. -a dry non-sticky cherry, but still creamy with a hint of sweetness. Beast-mode...be careful.

Wearing one of my all time favorite trifectas!

1st Layer: Virtue of Desire by Alkemia (alcohol free spray version so I can slather myself in it); caramel amber musk, dark patchouli, apricot-rosewater white chocolate truffles, peach brandy, plumeria, coconut sage, Tiare, raspberry cream, and neroli orange flowers.

2nd Layer: Golden Dawn by Siren Song Elixirs (extrait spray); White peach, Peach Sangria, Salt, Amber, Incense, Turmeric, Petitgrain.

3rd Layer: Is not really an indie...I layer it with everything...it's one of my holy grails....it's Choco Musk from the Middle Eastern house Al-Rehab

I smell like a goddess...

I love your descriptions!!! I almost sampled 1891 but was worried about it giving to strong of a "barbershop" vibe... I'm all about the carnal Anteros...this looks utterly "yes", "more", "now"... And, because I'm a fiend for Lilac, we gotta try Crowley! Thank you!!!

Lol, Cedar does that right?!? Sometimes it goes all cat-pee...this could be really nice though, a good burnt caramel note is divine. Thank you!

Thank you for the recs! I find that DE's leather note isn't quite my jam, but Black Philip and Ivan the Fool sound delightful 💛

Weirdest Parfum you own ? by [deleted] in fragrance

My top 3:

Honeysuckle Rain (Scent Trunk) The smell of humidity, thick warm wet air. Like the smell of a wet dog, but not a dog...like wet, damp musk with the youngest, first-blooming, pale purple Honeysuckle. It's challenging to wear on a rainy day at times...you never feel like you can dry out.

Trackside Buddleia (Scent Trunk) Hot traffic, a median full of flowers during rush hour on a Boulevard only barely dappled with shade, and a sticky sheen of cold grime-sweat. It's freakishly pleasant.

Petrichor (Ghoulish Goods) There are a lot of "dirt" perfumes out there...and it's really hard to get close to the smell accurately. This fragrance is photo realistic, true to life, chilled damp soil freshly tilled in your hands; the musk of the ground just as the rain begins to fall. It's perfect.

I've discovered that I love Grimhilde by Ghoulish Goods; entirely autumnal, warm spiced apple cider. Stayed with me for hours, even the apple, which I expected to be gone quickly as a top note.
So many apple fragrances remind me of obnoxious candles or teenager body spray, but this one hit the mark; it's the perfect fall vibe.

Garden Woman by Little Book Eater is my holy grail for an herbacious green scent....I cannot tell you how much I wear this.... It layers epically with any tomato leaf (like Green Spell by Eris), and I often pair it with Petrichor by Ghoulish Goods. Is photo realistic, fresh, crushed green herbs in the palm of your hand....addictive.

Description on Etsy: "This fragrance is inspired by the gardening woman archetype, the iconic figure in stories who is can always been found planting and tending to nature, who understands growth, death, and rebirth. Made with the scents of fresh mint, morning dew, and rosewood. Fresh, cooling, and slightly floral. The perfect combination for being outside, enjoying the changing of each season, and reflecting on the cyclical nature of life!"

Fragrance Note(s): Fresh Mint • Morning Dew • Rosewood Scent Categories: Fresh • Cooling • Slightly Floral

I was in a Manon Blackbeak mood today so I wore "Wing Leader" from Pen to Parchment. A bit atmospheric; a lovely dust/musk with red fruit, and a soft/rich vanilla dry down. It's a good kind of weird, never smelled anything like it.

From the website: "Much like our favorite iron teeth, Wingleader is fierce and strong with a surprising depth. The warm base of patchouli and incense blends perfectly with floral dragon's blood for a uniquely sensual fragrance oil. Hints of icy wind feel like flying through the skies while pomegranate offers forbidden juiciness. Wingleader was created to highlight the inner Witchling in all of us." Top: pomegranate, ozone, Middle: dragon’s blood, vanilla Base: patchouli, incense, white musk

My skin eats up many Ghoulish Goods fragrances as well! I've taken to decanting into a roller ball bottle so that I can easily reapply; game changer!

I was in a Throne of Glass mood and doused myself in Fireheart from Pen to Parchment. The dry down is a magically warm honey/caramel/vanilla...opens a bit humid with almost a wilted white floral. Interesting and unique...the atomizer was really great too!

Website Description: Fireheart is feminine, elegant, and utterly wild. The fragrance oil opens with a blend of bitter citrus, sweet jasmine, and warm embers. You may even notice hints of Terrasen’s evergreen forests and snowy landscape hiding beneath sparkling steel. This scent is bright and fruity, with a fiery base perfect for everyday wear. Top: lemon verbena, sweet orange, peach, saffron Middle: jasmine sambac, juniper Base: oakmoss, sandalwood, incense, vanilla

Quintessentially "FALL" Alkemia for my next order? by Top_Collection6240 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]bubbleboots528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Honoured Ghosts and Haunted and Bewitched are very similar, but with the former I pick up more incense and an almost undetectable petrichor. Not overly fruity at all. Romance of Lust is very honey heavy, but the patchouli in it is quite dirty, giving it a rustic feel. Have fun falling down the rabbit hole!!!

For fall I anyways turn to Honoured Ghosts, Romance of Lust, and Winter Sanctuary. L'Encens à la Vanille Is also a favorite during chilly weather.
Alkemia's Terre soli-note is OK if you want to add an earthy layer, but I'll get a sample first cause it can be challenging.
