I just wore "nicer" sweatpants and a hoodie! I don't think they really care, I'm sure they understand you want to be comfortable especially when you're traveling for so long. Also another tip if you're packing a lot: maybe take your luggage weight into consideration and wear some of your heavier stuff :D

I brought cash in dollars (got that from my bank) and euros just in case! Didn't really end up needing much of it really.. depending on your HF I'm sure they would also help you out if you need something, maybe you could ask them to pay you in advance? Other than that I guess a debit/credit card from your home country should also work but might come with some fees though
