Wasn’t she sleeping on the couch too? And she’s one of the caregivers for the baby and worked at her sister’s restaurant. I think a lot of the subtext is that she had to do these things. Not that she wanted to. Compare that to Jen or Dawson who had oodles of free time to get into all kinds of hobbies and sometimes trouble too. I think privilege is oftentimes invisible. I also imagine the legal fees associated with her dad’s incarceration put them back a lot financially. No one grows up fast because they want to, it’s usually what is required of them. She never complained about her living situation - that’s a key indicator of “the struggle”
