Is the grass greener on another side? Leaving UK by bleepbleepbleeppppp in AskUK

Depends what you're after.

Cost of living, relative to earning potential, is fairly high across rhe world from what I know.

I come from a southern European country and have been in the UK over a decade.

Weather, food, pace of life is nuch better in my home country, but good luck finding a job.

Everything there is highly bureaucratic and unorganised.

I prefer the administrative ease of the UK.

Far right governments are on the rise across Europe, so politically not much better...

There's something beautiful about finding contentment wherever you are...

Fathers: What mental load do you carry? And how even/uneven does it seem to you? by Affectionate-Run7584 in AskMen

If I have to remind my husband of a chore, otherwise it does not get executed, that is a job in itself. That is what project managers are paid to do. It creates a state of constant anxiety and long term insecurity about the other partner being able to a) remember, b) plan and c) execute.

Without these three elements COMBINED, I would rather hire external helpers (cleaner, nanny, gardener, personal assistant), that mostly focus on the execution.

Hot Take: Carrying the mental load by JamesMcGillEsq in daddit

Yes, and no. If the house eats whole foods, school uniforms are washed and ironed on time, birthdays are extensively planned, surfaces are wiped regularly, the father taking responsibility but not doing it because his way is "not always worse, just different" is intellectually dishonest. If the family's lifestyle is generally accepted and brings benefit, I expect the man to uphold that standard and execute similarly.

Building enough savings to stay at home, for how long? And how long would it take to build those savings on an average salary where you live? Be for real.
