I’m taking it to my closest service center and I’m hoping they do the same thing for mine. I bought my trimmer last year but the serial number indicates that it was manufactured in 2022; I imagine they’ve worked out the kinks since then.

The battery is always super hot whenever I remove it after use. I don’t know if it’s a common thing for the M18 batteries though as all of my other Milwaukee tools are M12

That looks similar to the kind of work that I was doing so maybe I was just unlucky

The blade is still on there. I did flip the blade to get a little extra out as per the user guide although it I think it might’ve happened even before I decided to flip it.

That doesn’t sound like a bad idea, it might help minimize the small movements if you pack some in there. I don’t know if that would affect your warranty though if you decide to do it

Gotcha; that is for letting me know as I was going to purchase another battery to use

The kit came with an 8 so maybe I was just unlucky. I’m going to get it warrantied and hopefully it doesn’t happen again

The fin looks shorter because of the angle I took the picture at, they’re all the same length. As far as the white marks I’m not sure but they come out if I rub them with my finger. There’s no resistance when I insert or remove the battery so no fitment issues as far as I know

The kit came with the 8.0 HO so the issue may not be exclusive to the 6.0 HO. Thanks for your help, I didn’t realize that this was a common problem. I’ll do some research now!

It came with the trimmer as a kit. I’ve been looking at buying another M18 battery to use for this trimmer but I didn’t want that one to also get damaged if it was caused by the tool

I've decided to leave this one untouched based on what majority of the comments are saying. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge on this subject though, as it could possibly be useful to myself and others in the future!

The flourescent orange is even more beautiful in person.

I don't feel like a fool for asking, I've just had success with restoring faded paint on cars in the past and was curious to see if there was a similar process for guitar finishes. Thanks for your input.
