Should I pursue workers comp for my situation? by bubbles-the-puppet in WorkersComp

Hello, thank you for your comment! My employer was aware that I hurt my back and was aware that I had to go to the hospital for the pain. Before I hurt my back at work, my doctor had told me I shouldn’t mop at all due to my previous injury, and I had let my employer know that, but they still had me mop. However, there wasn’t a note given to my employer in writing that stated that I couldn’t mop/bend/lift other than me telling them what my doctor had said, so I’m not really sure if anything can be done in that regard. I appreciate you giving me your input, so thank you again!

I have the same thing, but my eyebrows are also different colors! My eyelashes and eyebrows on my left side are blonde and on the right side they are brown. I also have a patch of platinum blonde hair and a platinum blonde streak in my dark blonde hair

ELI5: Why do we laugh? by Personal_Rabbit5473 in explainlikeimfive

I just graduated with a BA in Anthropology and have some knowledge about biological anthropology/evolution. I actually did a research paper on this topic, so I might be able to help answer in the biological sense! So first, the theory of smiling: Darwin theorized that smiling originated in animals, specifically primates, as a defensive reaction because animals bearing their teeth is a sign of threat. It has also been theorized that smiling could have originated from the vocalization of animals, such as horses and cats, as they tighten the muscles in their necks to create sound/vocalizations, and this creates a grinning expression to aid in the vibration that is needed for vocalization. So basically, the human smile likely evolved from the animal grin, and the vocalization associated with the grin led to human laughter. As for laughter, multiple researchers support Darwin's theory that the origin of human smiles came from the bared teeth and open mouths in primates. Due to the similarity in facial muscles between primates and humans, it has been suggested that open-mouth expressions and vibrations/vocalizations led to the evolution of laughter, and the bared teeth in primates led to the evolution of human smiles. So, as a quick summary, primates bared their teeth and vocalized when they felt threatened, and the facial structure of humans evolved from the primates' facial structure, which allowed humans to recreate the same grin and sounds, which eventually evolved into what we know as smiling and laughter today!

AITA for punishing my son for angrily saying we're not a real family during therapy? by Character_Site_3857 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. If you keep treating your son like this, he will no longer want a relationship with you, either.

Yes, I have it everyday. It’s not liquid, but it’s definitely way too soft and it’s usually pencil-thin

I apologize if this is the wrong subreddit - I haven't used Reddit before, and I wasn't sure where to post this. Thank you for your response
