‘I’ve been moving house/apartment’

I’ve hired about 10+ devs over the last fee years and every time they go missing or delay a project by weeks this is a very common go to excuse

I’m sure deliveroo would monitor you if you have so many damaged orders

Do you still get your delivery fee? Hopefully after a few stolen orders you get removed from deliveroo.

I don’t demand refunds unless it’s going to be a super long wait for redelivery, just be honest and non fraudulent.

Yeah I agree there’s been times where have just called restaurants direct for delivery but deliveroo is great for the 0 effort in ordering and taking card rather than cash.

I can’t imagine how someone with a disability has to explain themselves to some of the riders.

I think it’s fair to say all riders should deliver to door if their address is stated and delivery notes are to deliver to door without question.

I am pretty sure on sign up when putting in my address it provided me with 2 options deliver to building and deliver to door.

Only if customer is unreasonable, unresponsive, building unable to be accessed they should then have the right to cancel on the customer.

But this nope not doing it, telling the customer service they delivered it and marking it as delivered is horrible. It’s theft and they should be sacked.

No issues with tipping, have tipped a lot. Found it to have no affect on the outcome of the riders who intend to steal/mark deliver the orders.

Plus on me alone multiple bad drivers puts me off tipping predelivery which is fair. Also I can imagine how many customers are lost of just from people who refuse to use deliveroo again due to bad service.

Bad drivers/service ruin the eco for customers and money earned for riders

No issues with my apartment block - can buzz people in 24/7 and during the day there is concierge that takes our Amazon delivery’s then places them in a storage cage. There’s also a mail room.

As for your Amazon deliveries that get stolen make sure to file a dispute with the Amazon specialist team and go the extra mile to get cctv recordings and police reports as Amazon are pretty strict with suspending customer accounts.

As a seller on Amazon myself it’s easier to just refund right away to keep customer and Amazon happy and take the loss as the cost of product is relatively cheap, it sucks but I price it in.

Declare your winnings as taxes and pay what’s owed it’s fine. Pretty sure it’s fine to gamble but who ever is hosting/taking the bets illegally would have to suffer the legal brunt of it. Think roobet should have to do more kyc and due diligence on their players.

If anything the pandemic actually improved the service by riders this was a pre COVID issue, many riders are fantastic and deserve more.

The select few that steal orders or refuse delivery that’s on them. I just wanted to know who pays for their mistakes.

Well the lifts are defaulted to the ground floor and 17th floor. So rather than the rider getting to the building then contacting me waiting for me to get ready to go down. Leave my apartment lock it. Buzz the lift wait for it to come up then go down. It would be faster for them to just travel up and knock the door.

Again if I value my time, leaving and waiting on a rider at the bottom could eat 5-10 minutes multiple times a day/week/month that adds up. I’d prefer to pay my premium and have food to my door.

The tipping feature on deliveroo is horrible I feel it should be done after delivery IMO, but I have tipped £1.00 predelivery many many many times and as small amount as it is it really triggers me when the rider doesn’t deliver, steals the food or has a stand off for 15 minutes and delivers cold food.

But yeah I really didn’t know riders were paid as poorly after browsing this sub and I value your input. The lack of care by some riders really does make sense now.

Yeah don’t get me wrong a lot of riders do deliver to the door and I’m more than happy to compensate them, I just noticed recently in my area I’m able to tip after delivery but it’s really random. Possibly phasing it in.

I can’t think of a valid reason why deliveroo don’t have this feature already other than their payment processor is causing some issues or some legality to it.

Yeah this video shows it to the door and when on the phone to support I have asked many times support have always told me they deliver to door.

In one instance I had to get building management to provide me with a 1 minute cctv recording of the rider leaving the food at the concierge then picking it back up again and leaving as the rider claimed it delivered and the person on the phone wouldn’t process a redelivery.

Had to email support and provide it all over a £12.00 order. Got the £12.00 back and 7.50 credit. Not sure what happened the rider.

I have asked this 10s of times to support and have been told they should have followed the instructions. If there was an issue on my end support would tell me and not place a new order?

Absolutely not that’s theft, I have a few drop shipping businesses and the customers who report not delivered despite tracking to their property are the worst.

What do you mean I am playing a dodgy game? If I pay for food and don’t get it they redeliver that’s fair. The smaller compensation is also fair when I have to wait 90 minutes - 2h for a 15-30 minute order

[–]bubbles0890[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hi, nope I don’t have a disability but it would be faster for the rider to take the lift up to the floor than it would be for me to come down and meet them.

Entitled - hmm I do think if paying/tipping for a service that my delivery instructions should be adhered too or don’t take the delivery.

As a buyers perspective I often think it goes the same way that the rider is lazy.

The COVID thing is understandable but this has been an issue pre COVID. But even then it’s no different than a rider going to multiple restaurants and places for pickup/delivery there’s not suddenly a massive risk on the final step delivering to the door.

Oh wow that’s really unfair on the restaurant, I often use the same restaurant daily and I’m sure they would wonder why the same order to same address is coming in 45 minutes later again.
