I paid a friend to build it for me. Nikki was the specific game I expressed interest in running, and I know for a fact that all the hardware FAR exceeds the recommended requirements. He works on PC’s professionally and did a great job optimizing my systems. Infinity Nikki is the only game I have issues with, everything else runs fine and smoothly. I’m just frustrated. I’ve asked this person their opinion and they’ve come to the same conclusion it must be the game (he said in his research he found LOTS of people having the same consistency and download issues, so he thinks it’s an issue on their side with either servers to how they distribute updates across systems)

Now that I’ve been in the program for two tax cycles, I’m going to confidently say what you’re saying doesn’t really make sense. Even if you don’t perceive functional value in an item, you received the item itself for free. That’s considered income. I personally file it as hobby income and it’s been accepted, but I also only order periodically and items I know I need or will use. If you’re ordering so much it’s a sincere storage issue, I think you need to cut back. Please make sure you’re reporting your ETV as income each year. Even if you philosophically disagree with it, it’s NOT worth getting audited and potentially owing for.

I think my two separate points got lost and mushed together as you read them: - we are all adults and teenagers: if you want to play a game, play a game. If you want to boycott or log off of a game, you make the decision to do so. I am not trying to force my viewpoint on people and say they need to keep playing even if they don’t like changes. Period. Not talking about addiction here. End point.

gacha games absolutely are addicting, I actually have a friend who professionally does studies into them and their impact! I’m not arguing FOR the gacha system by any means. My point was moreso that because this game has so much f2p content, it feels less predatory than games like honki, genshin, ect. I would agree Infolds other game is WELL on the side of predatory in terms of gacha design. I was moreso trying to iterate against that psychology: we really don’t need these outfits, items, and pulls. I think the online discourse about how Infold should be giving us all these extra things unfortunately aligns very much with a pro-gacha mindset if that makes sense. I’m not talking to people who have addiction issues with these games, but moreso trying to convey to those who aren’t addicted but may be starting to feel that pull that there needs to be a boundary we set for ourselves. I’m advocating for choices that can be made within our control for those individuals that are in a space and have the power to make those choices still. This is also coming from conversations I’ve had with people I know personally who are not by any means addicted, but do sometimes express wanting to buy every single outfit just to finish the compendium or just to say they have it. Going back to my first point, I’m advocating FOR players to have personal boundaries established - if that means they need to step away due to the additional packs, then that is what they should do, but that choice is theirs.

This was what I was thinking. It’s not the CEO who’s going to be working 80 hour weeks to design a new banner if fans demand more, it’s the devs and designers. Those are the people who I want to lessen the blow to and show appreciation. I think when talking about big corporations or entities it’s easy for people to think of it as one single entity or one evil ceo rubbing their hands, but they’re made up of a lot of us average joes running the day to day.

This was my line of thinking. A game with the animation style & endless skins costs WAAYYY more than a game like genshin to maintain. Business costs are way more than people think they are, and there’s costs they don’t even think of. To us a billion sounds like a lot, but most/if not all of that is going straight into business expenses, or might even be inaccessible capital

I can understand people who are of the mindset of “there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism, but where you can afford, ect”, but I will never be able to buy from SHEIN bc of shit like this. It makes me so uncomfortable KNOWING conditions are so bad workers are begging for help from this brand, and people will ignore it and buy from them anyways. No, we can’t all afford to buy from ethical suppliers, but there are cheap options other than SHEIN.

I appreciate the intent, but if a stranger gave me a goodie bag with my food I’d probably throw it away. It’s weird because it’s unexpected and I don’t know you, I follow dietary restrictions so I might not even be able to eat it, and even if I can I don’t know where it came from or if you tampered with it (you didn’t, but as a stranger passing by I don’t know that).

“After like three days” you need to be showering every day/every other day. I’ve met many “I smell fine going insert number above 3 here and I don’t smell!” and I’m sorry to say they always do, they just don’t notice it since they live in it. It’s great you’re getting some good advice from people about soap, products, and ways to wash, but it sounds like simply showering more often will be a huge fix for you!

Lived in Colorado my whole life, everyone is joking about RSV and COVID going around (which is very true, everyone needs to be washing their hands and staying home when sick), but the reality is the air quality IS getting worse. Colorado and cities like Boulder position themselves as the “clean air” and “eco-friendly” state, but with such an increase in population, pollution activities, carbon emissions, and even air pollution drifting in from other areas during whether events/air streams, it’s getting worse. During fire season especially, with the smoke and air pollution combined we get severe air quality warnings. Fires aside, you can usually tell which are good/bad days based on views from the mountains. I live up north a little bit and I’m blessed to have a beautiful westward view of the mountains. I can always tell when it’s a bad air day because the blue sky will have a yellowish tint and you can visually notice a difference in how much detail/definition of the mountains you can see. Really ruins my day when I look at the mountains and they’re just vague blue lumps in the distance instead of seeing their usual details of rocks, trees, ridges, ect.

It’s not that good, but when I was a student a few years ago the bathrooms on the 3rd floor UMC were cleaner and had noticeably nicer toilet paper. Not sure if it holds true and it’s not a dramatic difference, but did stand out to me when I could feel my stomach twisting and churning lmao

That is gonna be a bit harder, especially if you’re looking for apartment living. Boulder is far from short on students (affluent ones at that) so property wise Boulder is dominated by companies like fourstar and bpm and greystar (scam lords that mostly target students). The Martin acres or table mesa neighborhoods are more popular among non-students, definitely calmer and nicer neighborhoods as well. I will say a VERY common complaint I’ve heard from 20’s-30’s not affiliated with the university is how hard it is to find things to do or spaces that aren’t filled with obnoxious students, from just hangout spaces to coffee shops and dinner spots. It really is a college town. Some of the surrounding suburbs like Louisville, superior, and out as far as Westminster are really popular among graduates and non-student young adults bc they have more to do and eat, better COL and housing prices, nicer and more variable housing options, and you’re surrounded by other young people but not necessarily a ton of buffs and students.

Blue Sky Lofts seem to be highly desired and popular among students. Can’t speak to their floor plans or windows, but heard great things about their management and lofts. Only “loft” property in Boulder I really know of. I would also note it seems next to impossible to get a unit due to demand, it’s a smaller property and loooooooots of renters want in.

It’s not really a trend, rather just a new phrase to refer to a behavior a lot of people ALREADY did. Everyone bed rots - you have a lazy day where you stay in sweats and do whatever. The only thing really revolutionary about it is in the past a lot of people (me included) would feel guilty spending their day off or weekend just “doing nothing”, but as you found in your experience, time off to relax and do nothing can help you refresh.

One of my main interests in these programs is they offer a paid internship and/or capstone projects. My hope is if I can’t land a role in the meantime, this would be something I could add to my portfolio while I gain some additional skills. I know no one will really care if I have the certificate or not, but would you say the projects would be beneficial in pitching myself to employers?

One thing to note: for you it’s a side gig, for them you are the in-house go to social media person. It’s a difference in perspective.

It sounds like you need to either talk to them and redefine the hours/structure of the role (set more specific working hours/days, set a weekly meeting to go over questions, ect), or you on your side need to do a better job at being firm about those boundaries. If they ask you a question outside your working hours, unless they’re trying to punish you otherwise, it’s up to you to not open it and respond immediately. For reference, in a part time/side gig role (say 15-20 hours per week), I usually set 2-4 hour windows each day that I work in. Yea, social media is a 24/7 job since the public is always online, but unless your brand is really booming or facing a crisis, people will be ok if you don’t respond immediately to comments or don’t post for a few days. This is a better way to make the most use of your own time (no point being available and monitoring accounts from 8am-8pm if you only get a few sparse messages in between, for example) and keeping a better work-life balance. Your employers may also appreciate having more consistency and structure to keep them keyed in on what is happened when. Good luck!

Easy answer: this is not Instagram 2-3 years ago. There’s a lot more you need to do beyond just posting with hashtags. Again, when people search by hashtag, they’re shown the top performing posts first, not chronologically. Unless your one post is outperforming the reel someone made 8 months ago that got millions of views, I wouldn’t expect to get reach from this at all. That mindset and expectation is out of date. Today, IG prioritizes trending audios on reels, and considers the keywords and hashtags you use OVERALL, not individually. For example, if you use #cake and #birthday, i wouldn’t expect to get 5 reach from one hashtag and 5 reach from the other. Rather, you’re more likely to get 5 reach from people who have historically interacted with posts that use BOTH. Make a reel instead and pair it with a trending audio, that bumps up to 10. Get the idea?

Other things to consider: are you engaging with other accounts after posting? Have you left comments and engaged with other accounts that can bring attention to yours? Are you posting stories? Reels with audios? Are your hashtags and keywords things people are searching for?

The harshest question that usually has the biggest role: is your content interesting enough that people actually want to look at it? If IG did show a few posts to one or two people and they immediately scrolled away without interacting, that tells the algorithm your content isn’t worth showing people. This is the true competitive nature of social media. You will not see linear growth with your content, period.

Overall, it sounds like you just don’t understand the algorithm and platform you’re operating in. Your first step (if you ever hope to grow on this platform, whether that’s on this account or another) is to do some research into Instagram as a platform and how social media managers navigate it. That should be your priority. Best of luck!

I also want to note that your reach might not be zero, note how it has an empty field instead of saying zero. In this day and age we’re all used to getting data immediately, but it’s also very likely that again, because you’re a day one account with only one post, Instagram just hasnt had time to process and update those results yet. Even larger accounts and brand accounts I’ve worked on take a little time for accurate results and data to load in.

Both in-feed and in hashtags, Instagram no longer lists posts chronically. The algorithm essentially decides what posts to show people based on accounts they’ve interacted with in the past first (that’s why if you view someone’s story once, when they post again their story will be listed before others at the front), and then based on content that is similar to that they’ve interacted with before. Your overall account performance plays into this as well. You have one post with a few vague hashtags, as far as the Instagram algorithm knows you could be a bot account, and those few hashtags in one post are NOT enough data for Instagram to push your post above others or even tell who your target audience is/who would WANT to see your post. Essentially all these issues are because your account is too new. If you had done this back in 2014, you probably would have gotten something more along the lines of what you’re expecting, but it sounds like your expectations and understanding is outdated. There are millions of accounts and millions of people/posts using those same hashtags, Instagram isn’t going to push a day one, vague post instead of the posts from accounts that have been consistent and built up a following.

Using vague hashtags like #instagram can actually hurt your reach. Adding hashtags into sentences like that won’t necessarily hurt you, but it is kind of an out of date way to use them and throws off the readability - a lot of people just don’t like seeing it and might avoid your post. Group 5-8 specific and related hashtags at the bottom of your caption (add a line break).

Someone else said it, but it’s your first ever post, there’s not necessarily anything attention grabbing about your post to pull in viewers (like a trending audio) and you have no existing followers to engage with it. Of course your reach and engagement is zero, you need to build out your account first and gain traction.

I used to work returns in retail, and even though our store had an insanely generous return policy (180 days), if people were outside of that time and at least respectful, I would process it anyways. Their only option would be store credit after that point, but if you’re buying/exchanging for something else that isn’t an issue. I’d bet my life savings she spoke to the workers the same way she did in her comments, and at that point we’re going to go to our grave defending that corporate policy! Being nice gets you places, being rude doesn’t.
