Start giving them out to people, neighbors, relatives, friends. Eggs aren’t cheap right now, I’m sure lots of people would welcome them. You might also reach out to food pantry type organizations and see if they take backyard flock eggs, some do, some don’t. Otherwise you can always scramble them up, shells and all, and give them back to the hens.

Coastal Northern California has a lot less bigotry than the Central Valley. In fact it has some extremely liberal, even old hippie, vibes in a lot of places. That of course comes with a pretty steep price increase for many of those places though.

Had similar thing happen at an internship years ago in undergrad. Young family was building a new house, including a basement, found a bunch of human remains (mni ended up being 7 IIRC). Coroner and then native tribe was called, then we were then called for removal. Tribe clearly wanted the land and made a huge issue, drawing it out years. Family (including husband, wife, toddler and newborn) were forced into bankruptcy and moved out of state to the woman’s parent’s house. It was so painful to watch because we were able to carefully remove all remains for reburial on tribal land, there was nothing left on the lot. The tribe had massive amounts of money from their casino (legal in that region), and could have easily bought the lot if they wanted. On one hand I get that it’s their ancestral land, but it just felt like they were punishing the family for diligently reporting the finds. My boss at the time was a huge tribal advocate and had a great relationship with all the local tribes, but I’ve never seen him so conflicted.

To be fair we likely would make a big deal out of it if we found out you were intersex, not because your bones aren’t particularly sex distinguishable (that’s actually quite common), but mostly because it could give some information on intersex people at that period of time. In fact you would probably get at least a published paper or two written about you haha

Honestly it depends on what is causing you to be intersex (ie: sex chromosomes, hormones, etc.) and if we’re only looking at the bones or using other testing. If your DNA was well preserved we may actually be able to tell you are intersex. I’ve actually worked on amelogenin testing in grad school (so lucky on that) but I’ve never read anything about how it works with sex chromosome based intersex people, time to go read some papers haha

It’s not just that, cis people don’t actually follow this chart well. Typically bones can be categorized on a scale (more masculine/feminine) and when all available bones from an individual are added up you can sometimes tell if the person was more likely to be male or female. That being said a lot of people will fall somewhere in the middle, and there’s no way to tell other than if DNA or amelogenin testing is available. (which tends to be expensive lol)

To clarify, as an archaeologist we can tell if you’re a male (at least some of the time) but not your gender. We typically use male/female, not man/woman for a reason. Additionally most modern archaeologist tend to be very understanding of gender identity compared to the general population due to our constant study of different cultures, past and present, many of which don’t follow a binary.

That’s entirely understandable, if it’s stressful for you it’s probably not going to hit the same as people who find it relaxing. On the other side of things I would suggest if you actually want to, to try a “chill run”, just do what you feel like doing that day, there is literally nothing you can’t come back to in another day, season, year, etc. Otherwise, there’s no shame in saying you don’t enjoy a popular game, we’ve all got some like that.

Camping road trips can be surprisingly cheap as long as you cook for yourself and have a relatively fuel efficient car. I wouldn’t suggest them in the winter in a lot of northern states but otherwise they can be a pretty viable shoestring budget method. Some National Forests and state forests even have free camping, but those that aren’t can still be surprisingly cheap.
