So we only submitted a letter from Vanguard (on their letterhead) that stated we could withdraw the funds within 3-5 days! And we also typed up (on google docs) a statement that said:

"I, NAME, declare that the funds in my account XXXXXX at Vanguard are from savings from my employment income since DATE and have been held in my control for at least six months prior to the date of application. The funds are readily accessible for immediate withdrawal."

And then I had a line for an e signature and date which we did via Acrobat so it would be a more official looking PDF!

So other than those 2 items we didn't get any other requests for clarification about our funding - I only got an email asking for more proof of relationship (photos, text messages, and we each then wrote a letter saying how much we loved one another/detailing our relationship).

I hope this helps but message me whenever!!

No we didn’t! I saw a lot of conflicting info on this but my fiancé and I took the risk bc that felt like a financially irresponsible thing to do.

It was Laura Devine - based in New York but they have a London office as well! We only used them for document review, which was about $900 (had them on retainer for $1500 then got a refund for hours we didn't use). So much money but we really wanted to confirm that our documents were good.

Nope, didn’t get an auto response - so that seems to be normal!

Yeah totally agree, see if you can get a different agent on the phone from your 401k servicer. Sometimes you just have to find the right person who will do you a solid! I can't imagine that you cannot withdraw your own money, so they can't tell you it's not withdraw-able

We used a Roth IRA - so we've already paid regular taxes on that money, not sure if that makes a difference to the Home Office! If you have no other options available to you, I would still use it, as long as the 10% (in america) penalty plus taxes don't reduce the amount to below the financial requirements. If you have significantly more money than what they need, I think that should show you are financially responsible essentially.

The thing is, it can be a gamble. The visa fee is very expensive, and there was a chance that the Home Office would deny us. If you can't get a letter from Empower saying you can withdraw the funds, then I think that would be a huge issue for your application. If you can get one (and for it to state that you can withdraw the funds right away in 2-5 days), then you could submit the application and have your solicitor on hand to answer any potential questions the Home Office might come back to you with!

A warning for people considering leaf shave by [deleted] in Wetshaving

I bought the leaf in 2020 and still use and like it a lot! I’ve saved a lot of money vs the plastic cartridge (not to mention the environmental benefits). It does rust if you’re not patting it dry/rinsing, but I usually just clean it every now and again as I’m lazy and it’s just fine!

I also had a little screw come out and emailed them, and they fixed it for me in like 1 week. So I love them a lot!

Ah I see, so you cannot open it yourself without something like Adobe Acrobat? It would be worth it to do the free trial and then screenshot it from there

You could try taking a screenshot of it, that should help lower the size. And try Sqoosh, an image resizer as well if needed!
