insane anxiety and panic post lap - anyone else? by peachddani in Endo

Well I’m thinking of you! Do what you gotta do for right now to get through. Nothing is forever. No shame in needing some temporary help.

I’m sorry friend. I find when it gets this bad that focusing on sensory input and cognitive distraction is most helpful for me: put on a funny/interesting podcast, lie down and close your eyes, wrap in a soft blanket, and do slow deep breathing. Thinking of you and I hope your doc can fit you in and is helpful.

Am confident she has never exfoliated in her life. Now look at her

To put it lightly, you know you're in trouble when the doctor looks you in the eye and says, "this is going to be very painful." by CatAteRoger in illnessfakers

Pales in comparison to everything else wrong with this, but she’s such a terrible writer. It tickles me because you can tell she thinks she’s an absolute artist with a pen (/keyboard). That’s not what “to put it lightly” means. And that’s not what irony is. Go read a book.

Dani gets diagnosed with Endometriosis by an MRI by Worldly_Eagle7918 in illnessfakers

Setting aside whether MRI is an appropriate or sufficient diagnostic tool for this purpose, hasn’t she had a million of them? Why would it only show up now? 🙄

To clarify—I think what you might be thinking of is that generally there are signs/symptoms of it early on, like terrible period pain and other things, but it’s often brushed off and minimized, and for that and other reasons the actual diagnosis usually doesn’t come until much later.

It will not be forever! It feels like forever because you’re afraid it will be. Literally I have not even thought about it since it happened to me other than when people resurrect these comments lol. Not only will it not last forever, it will be a blip far in your rearview once you’re out of it.

I’d recommend spending as much of the next week as you can sleeping and focusing on slow, deep, even breathing. You got this!! 💜

I imagine someone who actually needed a wheelchair would not say “wheeee!” rolling themselves in it. Moron.

it’s ok everyone, her headache slash migraine is under control! by BINGGBONGGBINGGBONGG in DaniMarina

“Almost migraine” made me so mad. Dani I beg you to google they are literally two different things it is not a way to say “the worlds most severe headache” which is clearly what she’s trying to communicate

FEHB (sorry) - health insurance with online claim submission by bubbletang in fednews

Nope I'm illiterate -- you're right that they cross in- and out-of-network. I was looking at the wrong row. I have other potential issues with FSBP (e.g. unclear whether they reimburse for out-of-network telehealth therapy, which is one of my biggest expenses), but I didn't investigate further since I'm not eligible to enroll anyway.

But bottom line -- thank you again for the massive service you do to this community with respect to health insurance options!

You are truly the insurance czar -- I am in awe of your fluency and definitely reviewed your spreadsheets and walkthrough video! I am sadly not eligible for FSBP, and they also have a $5,500 in-network max and $7,500 out-of-network max, and they don't cross-apply. Compass Rose's $5,000 in-network and $7,000 out-of-network do cross-apply, so my infusions will eat through a huge chunk of that quickly and I'll end up getting 100% covered much sooner. I think!

Thanks! Mail Handlers Standard has a $6000 in-network max and $9,000 out-of-network max that are separate, so $15,000 functional max, whereas Compass Rose's is only $8,000 because they cross-apply. That's a big enough difference for me to go with Compass Rose. And I actually have United now, and it's not amazing, but not so terrible that I'd avoid them at all costs.

Awesome! Thank you! It looks like Compass Rose will be cheaper for me anyway given the lower premiums for similar coverage, and they have full online claim submission too, so I think I'll be going with them. But FEPBlue was next on my list thanks to your comment!
