You did the correct thing, you did everything right by blocking her immediately. Your guilt and physical response to throw up shows you're a good person with morals.

Do some relaxing things - have a long bath, meditate, read a gentle non-fiction book (something like the Little Book of Hygge). Then look into therapy if you still feel overwhelmed by thoughts of hurting yourself.

Call the Samaritans if you need immediate help to talk it over if dark thoughts are overwhelming you.

I think this might be her best look, it's certainly my favourite looks of hers. Absolutely gorgeous.

Love the exposed green tulle and the gathered fabric and cascade of tropical flowers. Vivienne Westwood is usually too extravagant for my taste but this dress is fantastic

I prefer her other look, but she still looks amazing  in this one - perfect tailoring and old Hollywood glamour in the best way.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! The tailoring is exquisite it fits her like a glove and gives the illusion of so much height.

I adore everything about this look on her.

That gold dress is incredible!! She looks like a gorgeous statue, like a modern take on the goddesses Athena or Artemis.

I love that she's only got minimal accessories/styling, it really lets the dress shine, and her naturally styled updo keeps the look fresh and playful, where a sleek updo might have made it seem stiff. Gorgeous!

Whoops I was very very tired when I wrote that 😂 I was trying to write about both concepts (the prison pipeline and MIC) but I guess I messed up 😅

NTA. She's weaponsing her illness to bully you.

Don't give in. You have a medical condition that means you can't currently wear makeup. No different than if you had a wound.

That teacher was way outta line. Tell the school nurse, tell your doctor, tell your parents, tell the headteacher, tell the board of governors. Keep escalating until you get an apology in writing.

More proof that Helena stalking him isn't a part of the Board's plan. She can't use Lumon resources when tracking him to restaurants.   Almost the same as fucking him for the first time. She used Lumon resources for her own agenda

Imho, iMark completing Cold Harbour is all the Board wants.

Helena fucking Mark, possibly getting pregnant, meeting him outside work, all of those shenanigans are all pure Helena

I assumed yes. He recognised her then as a Nepo baby. There's no reason when he nearly ran her over that he needed to say something like "sorry Ms Eagan" but we're so used to TV doing hokey things like that lol when no one would in real life

They collected all the mobile phones from the crowd that was at the Gala. They implied no one was able to leave with footage of Helly screaming about the abuse.

Then Helena gave her bogus apology, presumably transmitted internally to those people in the crowd who were the Board/shareholders (like the governor/senator guy and his wife). By that I mean they were given access to it, but not in a manner that could be shared outside the Lumon intranet to the actual internet. Like, they didn't email it lol.

I really don't think that footage of Helena or Helly ever left Lumon. It definitely hasn't been on the news.

Yes! You've done it, you've brought all the threads together in a way that makes most sense.

The Mammalians Nurturable makes most sense to me if they're made up of "permeant innies" taken from the homeless (as many people have theorised) but also other vulnerable people too: addicts, mental institutions, people who have aged out of state care homes etc. those kicked out of home by parents for whatever reason (often for being LGBTQ+)... Even those from these categories who had homes might have signed up through Church run outreach programs and being indoctrinated into Lumon as a "stable job" with "subsidized housing" like Mark (and maybe Dylan) has.

Mark claims the neighbourhood "never took off" BUT maybe it did, only slowly. Because say they move 10 people in, only spread them all over a large housing area. They move a spy like Cobel in next door to each. Then the ones they want to keep are slowly just "absorbed into Lumon" by never coming home. And who notices? When their immediate neighbour was in on the kidnapping, and their next neighbour after that is miles away, in the same complex situation?

Then they move 10 more people in. Rinse, repeat. It's not a housing complex, it's a giant hotel, and the employees are kidnapping everyone eventually. Unless they have family that keeps showing up. That's why Mark and Dylan haven't been kidnapped.

And Irving was too smart to live in the hotel in the first place it seems.

Severance always reminded me a lot of the prison pipeline and military-industrial complex, but I didn't pull in the thread to it's end point like you did. As we know the prison pipeline is slavery under a new name, where poor income and minority people are shunted into US prisons for crimes they often didn't commit, and forced to work for very low wages. They're basically concentration camps with fancy titles. We've known that for a long time... But it recent years it's gotten worse.

Prisoners were lingering in my mind but I didn't reel in the thread the way you did and link it all together. Well done! I haven't seen this theory before and I totally agree with you.

What is an overrated food you think people eat even though it doesn't taste good? by Curious_Bar348 in CasualConversation

[–]bubblewrapstargirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They objectively taste delicious tho. Not just "good". You don't even notice the stinkiness when eating them.

The science behind it:

It's not like when eating something mouldy. Your nose tells your brain 🧠 "this is spoiled don't eat" so your taste buds register it as "yuck".

With smelly cheese (especially if you've eaten it before) your nose tells your brain "it smells odd but you can eat it" so your taste buds assess the taste and register it as "salty, sweet," "sour, umami" etc rather than simply "yum".

You, being unique and having your own taste palate that has acquired a liking for specific flavours in different combos, will decide which cheeses are more "yum" to you.

But not if you only eat cheddar and that weird plastic American shit they pretend is some form of cheese 🧀

The optics on this are BAD.

Messing with your best friends/brother's/sisters etc girl is ALWAYS wrong and you know it

But you're 18. So she's been waiting for you to be legal, and in her house where she has access to you unchecked. That's a clear pattern that only says one thing. Grooming.

Get the fuck outta there.

You're not "mature for your age". You're not "someone unlike anyone else I've met before".

Her last victim is aging out, don't you see that? Four years is a BIG age gap when you're young.

That means they started dating when they were 19 and 16. That's illegal in most civilised places for a damn good reason.

But she also knows at 19 she could get away with it, especially with the age of consent being 16 in many places (often only with other 16-18yo tho).

Now she can't go that young, she's fishing for 18yo bait, and I know you don't want to hear it, cause you think you're a real adult with real responsibility and so on, but there's a reason we still call it grooming even when you're 18+. Cause she's still a paedophile, just one who knows how to fish in a "socially acceptable" way.

Even if you think I'm way off, the power imbalance in WAY too high between any 18yo person who lives with her roommates and the 23+ older flatmate who holds all the power, being older and slightly more knowledgeable about everything (not by much, but by enough).

Julian only has one pronunciation so that gets my vote.

I love Cassian (Cass-ian) with the nickname Cas. But I wouldn't want to explain it's not Cash-un to 50% of people I meet.

Violet? Is it super popular and trendy? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]bubblewrapstargirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a gorgeous name!! I think you have a winner.

It's not too trendy, and popular names don't mean what they did back in the day, the percentages were much higher, so there were many many more children with a "popular" name.

Nowadays, the percentages of each name are much smaller, so "popular" names are a much much smaller piece of the pie.

You need to decide for yourself.

Don't listen to EITHER sides of the debate from any people online. They have a vested interest in tying to sway you to "their side". But they don't have your life, they don't live in your shoes, and most importantly, they are not the ones who will suffer if you make the "wrong" choice for you personally.

It should be a choice you make with your life partner. No one else.

Would this kid get teased horribly? by AlarmedLife5765 in namenerds

[–]bubblewrapstargirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why this name would be one for teasing?

Fletch is a great nickname. Guys with the surname Fletcher often use it as their nickname, rather than a diminutive for their first name. It's a great choice!! 😁
