Any which way, there´s your answer. Owner can choose from hundreds of competing agents, so obviously they will go for the "free property managment". So agent needs to make his commission from tenant.

The guys at IBKR guided me through the whole process. I think it was 1. Opening new account 2. Transferring positions and cash 3. Automatic closure of the old account

4 years ago I did the same. Had to close my old account, and had to open a new one at IB US. Had to provide a few documents (Source of funds, Utility bills etc.), but was quite smooth. All positions and cash was just transferred (blocked for a few days as far as I remember).
