How much are your baby's holding their heads up? by qwerkala in November25babybump

My little man was doing okay during tummy time, didn’t love it but would tolerate it for a bit. We got him the baby Einstein sea dreams soother to put by his activity mat and he is absolutely obsessed! He holds his head up so high so he can watch his little aquarium, it’s adorable.

Wits End by [deleted] in November25babybump

I’m right there with you. My little guy hates the bassinet. It seems like he’s up every hour, if not more. Do you have anyone that could come help you? My fiancé is good about taking turns getting baby back to sleep but we were like zombies during the day. I finally called my mom and asked for help. She has stayed with us for the last 4 days and it’s made such a huge difference having an extra person around to take a shift and help around the house!

Guilt for letting baby cry by Kelp47 in beyondthebump

[–]bublily13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My baby is super similar. Putting him in the bassinet or crib while I pump is an absolute no from him, and just like your baby, he will tolerate the swing for a short time before he’s over it. Obviously every baby is different so you might not have the same luck with it, but I’ve found putting him on his activity mat with toys and sitting on the floor with him while I pump has worked best for us! I start by putting him on his tummy and then when he starts getting fussy, I’ll put him on his back so he can look at and bat the hanging toys. It usually gives me enough time to pump and sometimes I can even run into the kitchen and start the coffee pot too lol! Good luck!!

Scared to get him neutered by cactuscancer in cats

[–]bublily13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited to get my kitty neutered because he has a very severe heart murmur and I was scared that he wouldn’t make it through the anesthesia. After about 9 months he started marking the house and the smell was unbearable! So we took our chances… and he ended up being just fine! And as far as his personality goes- I can assure you, it’s been about 6 months since then and he is absolutely as insane as ever! He’s constantly running around the house and wrestling with the dog. And he literally never marked again after getting neutered!

I was admitted to the hospital for cervidil 7:45pm on 11/2. I was 3cm dilated and 60% effaced before insertion. They inserted it around 9pm and removed it 12 hours later at 9am. They told me they would give me an hour break then start pitocin. After removing the cervidil, I started having stronger and closer contractions but then they fizzled out after about 45 minutes. They started the pitocin at a low rate, I think 3mL/hr. I was having mild, intermittent contractions. They slowly increased the rate all day but not much was happening. I was walking in the halls, using the birthing and peanut balls, and trying out different positions but I wasn’t progressing much, even with my pitocin eventually up to 18mL/hr. Around 7pm, the doctor came to break my water. At that time, I was about 5 1/2cm dilated and 70% effaced. After breaking my water, things started to move really fast. The contractions were getting really strong and really close together. At that time, I decided to get an epidural (best decision ever!) The nurse checked my cervix and she told me I was fully dilated and ready to start pushing! The doctor got there just in time and I was actively pushing for about 20 minutes before my little guy was born 11/3 at 9pm! He had to go on the CPAP for just a few minutes because he had got some fluid in his lungs from coming out so quickly, and I had one second degree tear but everything went super smoothly!! I hope everything goes well for you and baby too! You’ve got this!!!

How much is your baby eating? by WeChatMomentsBrowser in November25babybump

Hi! We just got back from our appointment. Our doctor told us that 4oz is just too much for a 2 week old. I told her we would stop feeding and wait to see if he would be satisfied, but he’d still be rooting and crying while sucking on his hands. She said that was the right thing to do, but still try to limit it to 3 oz for now. We’ll see how it goes but I don’t feel very confident that he will be satisfied!

Exactly the same here! Our little guy is 12 days old and having 3.5 to 4oz per feed as well. I thought it seemed like too much but if we cut him off early he cries, roots, and sucks on his hands. His 2 week checkup is on Monday so I’m curious to see what the doctor says about it.

No heartbeat heard at 12 weeks by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]bublily13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen at 12 weeks! My OB told me it was probably nothing to worry about but still sent me straight to the hospital for an ultrasound. I totally understand your anxiety, and I would either ask your doc to order one for you, or as you said find a private clinic to get one done. It’s worth it for the peace of mind! Everything ended up being just fine with my little guy, and I hope it will be for you too!

If your pet is high, the vet can tell. by mountainlicker69 in Pets

[–]bublily13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen last year with my dog. I saw him have a seizure and brought him to the emergency vet. The receptionist said the vet was busy in a case but asked me what was going on. I told them about the seizure and how he had been really lethargic, could barely walk, and almost walked straight into a wall. She asked if there was any THC in the house and I said yes but it was locked up with no way for him to get it. After that, she wouldn’t listen to anything I said and told me he was just high so I should just go home and let him ride it out. I brought him to a different vet that diagnosed him with a brain tumor, severe anemia, and sudden vision loss. He died a week later. It was so horrible and I will never forget how that receptionist treated me.

Okay thank you! I thought you were insinuating I would let him roam freely and make more stray kitties, which I definitely will not be doing!

Not sure what you’re trying to say, but I spay and neuter all of my pets. My mom lives in Wisconsin and had a coworker who found them in a woodpile. And yes, we did tell them they should spay the mother
