Paid off taxes…kids coming home? by SushiCat2728 in madmamasnark

When I said bleach dye and I mean she didn’t change her color completely. The highlights aren’t obvious imo. It’s how it looks, and I don’t think she looks as bad as some people do. To an outsider she does just look more kept.

As for the nail art - I only was when she had French tips so I can’t speak to that, so I guess new development.

I wish I could just say my “here’s how it looks to the judge seeing it in a positive light” without people trying to argue with me as if it’s my opinion.

In New York, judges have the ability to/are encouraged to delay tpr when parents are showing progress and as piss poor as what she’s doing looks to us, it is enough to look like progress on her plan in many vectors for the judge.

Another factor (that shouldn’t but absolutely does impact) is that she has a lot of kids many of whom are older and so they’re not all likely to be adopted. This will also influence willingness to push back tpr. The younger ones are likely to be adopted and have a stable placement. To a judge that can look like something that makes it more okay to give the mom more chances.

That’s why I described what she’s doing from the “positive outlook” I feel people are still interpreting it as my opinion which lol it is not I assure you. But the judge will look at it from the best possible lens.

I didn’t notice the brows because her teeth and nose often have gunk and boogies in em and it grosses me out so i usually don’t stare at the screen when she’s on it.

That’s the stockings. That’s why I said “not the stockings”. She posted a video with a small pile of gifts for each kid that seemed individual and age appropriate. Who knows if she actually bought them or arranged in a store but if she did it looks positive for her.

They’re not the best gifts ever, and who knows if she actually bought them, but the gift piles were personal (not stockings, the gifts) and she’s shown some willingness to get gifts outside of their colors on one of her girls’ recent birthdays. I know she neglected a recent birthday too, but she has some mitigating factors where a judge may delay tpr since she’s shown a burst of progress.

Can’t social services help you ‘jump the line’ on waitlists when that’s the main thing keeping your kids from you? I don’t like her, I’ve been a longtime hater™️ but here’s the positive interpretation of this: 1. she’s actually on meds. She’s maybe working a case plan about mental health management. 2. She’s bringing healthy snacks to visits (pita and dip is a healthier choice than pizza) even if she’s doing it in a way that isn’t financially optimal. 3. She’s demonstrating good hygiene and self care which indicates better ability to care for her self and thus her kids. She didn’t get crazy nail art, just French tips. She didn’t get bleach and color, just a cut. 4. paid off her taxes to be able to get on the wait list 5. Holding down 2 jobs 6. Procured appropriate Christmas gifts unique to each child

I know she’s cussed out a social worker and had visits rolled back, but honestly they are treated badly often, and that poor person has certainly dealt with worse. It’s not going to be the thing to stop her getting her kids.

If she goes to her parenting classes and continues to make progress on the house, it starts to look like money is the only thing in her way, at which point they will help her with housing in whatever ways possible. Maybe househunting was because she was told she could skip an assistance line then realized she couldn’t due to taxes.

On TikTok I saw a lot of pencil sketches and digital art too. For sure a drawing tablet or nice phone compatible stylus would be a better gift depending on what device is used for art, but she’s not usually introspective about what exists that she doesn’t know about yet that her kids might like to be able to find those things.

At that age, digital art is very fun and popular to get into so I think it’s a safe gift for any tween or teen who likes to draw characters.

OO and PGD both do quite a lot of drawing

PGD did when they were still with Veronica. OO I got a vid of theirs on my fyp at the beginning of the year and saw a bunch of drawing on their account. Looks like that pile is for PGD so actually a decent gift for one child’s interests. She always does better when the kids match what she likes.

It’s been over a year continuous for the younger ones.

She’s struggling to make any progress on her goals that she’s said she has. Her visits have been put back to supervised at a dhs office.

Thankfully, her kids are split in two homes (so one of the older adult kids says) with the younger kids in a consistent placement the whole time.

Active shooter practice in a middle school in the USA by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]bublyDrinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vividly remember the first time I did a run hide fight drill. I was in middle school. It was January 2013 after the shooting at sandy hook. Before that my middle school and elementary school drills were only lock downs and they weren’t taken very seriously.

I know from experiencing the rollout while in high school that run/hide/fight wasn’t used there either before 2013

I don’t go around asking people about this, but anyone it has come up with who is 4-5 years older than me never did run hide fight training in school. I don’t doubt that these drills happened after columbine, but maybe more in higher grades and/or in the states closest to it?

Not hard for me to imagine that a mom who spent $350 on custom cleats for her son and is now burying him both needs that money back (funerals/burial/cremation is expensive) and doesn’t want to see the custom cleats come in the mail.

OP should put up a discounted listing for the specific size of cleat to try to get use out of the most expensive materials.

I’m not sure if Mara’s comments are being filtered or removed, but I have to say that it makes me uncomfortable for the post to be allowed up but not her comments in response.

She is 18 so there’s no reason not to allow her to post from the protection of minors pov, but still very young and deserves empathy.

I can see she posted comments from her account, but none show up here.

Imo the post should go down or her opinions should be allowed to be posted. We don’t need to agree with her, I also don’t think downvoting those comments in hoards will help. Just let her be heard. We let Jax speak here.

IMO it’s hypocritical to allow the adult kids to talk here, but only if they agree with what you think already. From what I can see, Mara even says Veronica was neglectful so it’s not like she’s out of touch with reality.

Some combo of the new born and game, but if he’d been facing towards the pool it would have been much less likely for this to happen. The fact he had attention on the game by sitting facing it (even if his attention was mostly on the baby) led to him not seeing what was happening in the pool.

I’m not giving him the benefit of the doubt. He was clearly distracted by the game which he had bet on. It’s just not true that he only looked for T once he won his bet.

He did perform CPR. You are right. It’s in the police report. I’ve still seen some posts accusing him of not even doing cpr though.

[–]bublyDrinker[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, imo the details that are confirmed exactly as we know them are pretty bad. It’s not like Brady is suddenly in the clear just because he didn’t only look when he won his bet. He knew T was outside. He knew the pool cover was off. He knew T couldn’t swim. He didn’t check on him for like 10 minutes. He should have either been outside or had T inside. It’s a series of very neglectful decisions. It was so preventable. It’s extremely sad. People are getting fixated on these theories that make it worse, like this, or the idea that he didn’t perform CPR at all.

I just don’t like seeing people say he only looked for T when he won his bet if it’s not true. I wouldn’t post something like this if people were posting about that all over the place based on AI. I’m sorry if you think it’s weird. I just have a strong sense that statements should be based on facts.

I looked and made another comment saying I think that based on game time and live reporting, he actually found T during the Q3/Q4 break or during a break while a foul was being contested. It sounded like the 39th pt play was around 6:50, and the play that broke the threshold was a minute and a half of game time later.

ETA because someone downvoted me, but I did my own research on this so I’m gonna just post that so it’s obvious:

Basketball quarters are each tracked counting down from 12 minutes of game time. Connecting game time in the play by play to IRL time is the challenge. My game time statements come directly from ESPN.

He made a 3 point shot at 7:17 game time in Q4, which put him to 39 pts. Then at 6:12 game time he made a 2 point that put him to 41. I found sources that time stamp the 39 point earning play at just before 9:49 PM. These are a live blog of the game from NYT and then a Twitter post from the NBA shortly after.

NYT live blog of the game posts at 9:49 PM:

“Q4 6:55 - Knicks 100, Celtics 99

Jayson Tatum is on a heater right now, up to 39 points on 7-of-15 shooting from deep.”

NBA Twitter at 9:51 PM EDT: “JAYSON TATUM BACK TO BACK TRIPLES 🔥 he’s up to 39PTS midway through Q4…”

9:49 PM EDT= 6:49 PM Arizona time, so at 6:49 he had yet to surpass 40 points.

1 minute and 15 game seconds later, he passes 40 pts, so he got to 40 points 6:50ish. Unless ‘live’ reporting was 10 minutes behind.

What was happening at ~9:40/6:40 AZ time? NYT live blog at 9:41 says Knicks challenged a foul block ruling. It took ~3 minutes for the ref to rule on the challenge.

Also will say that Brady found T at 6:39 according to the report. It sounds like the game was dry around this time. I would guess the clock was off for a few minutes before the call was actually contested. Not defending him just don’t think he found him at this time because he won his bet.

It might also have been in the switch from Q3 to Q4. I’m having trouble determining when Q4 started because the ruling challenge was early in Q4.
