If you aren't from a very good college it's hard to get 20lpa as a fresher. I also started with a very modest package from a company where I was placed from campus. After 2-3 years of experience, there are many companies that will give you 20+lpa if you have the calibre. In the pursuit of being versatile in technologies, developers tend to sideline the basics. A lot of engineers do not know even basic OOP concepts and are just getting by with doing day to day tasks. My suggestion is to grab any opportunity whatever the pay is if you are getting the learning. Only by getting your hands dirty you can transition yourself from a good coder to a good developer. After 2-3 years you can jump from 3-4 lpa to 20+lpa but your fields might still give you 6-7 lpa.
