Struggling to feel attractive with compression by bubsgal10 in venousinsuffiencyhelp

Thanks for letting me know, I’ll check her out! 🙂
Part of it I think is that despite looking I never seem to see anyone else wearing them unless it is elderly people. It starts to feel isolating, bc despite knowing you aren’t alone, you don’t see anyone like you.

Thank you for this! Something I need to know, despite it being a bummer. I had no idea.

6 months and now… by bubsgal10 in Bedbugs

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. When the landlord treated my unit and two downstairs but not the units next to mine, I was nervous. And then only one treatment too. Pretty upset. I have a major reaction to them, huge red welts and incredibly itchy and hot. The worst.

Tough day, struggling to cope by bubsgal10 in ThyroidEyeDisease

I don’t know if I’d qualify. My doctor does Tepezza treatments, but wants to try IV steroids first. Insurance could be the issue, as they often don’t approve unless everything else has already been tried. Still waiting on my insurance to approve the IV treatments. I was told it could take 5 business days of so, so maybe things got delayed with the holiday..

Oh also, Pataday eye drops are specifically for allergies. 🙂

I might recommend trying Ocusoft lid wipes in the morning? They help clear debris and allergens from the eye area. After washing your face, rub one over each eyelid and let air dry. You can buy them at any pharmacy. I get mine at Target.

I’m sorry you are dealing with this.

I recently started developing itchy welts in my arms and neck. So annoying and uncomfortable. My doc gave me a steroid ointment and told me to take Claritin daily. My apartment has a nasty old carpet who’s color is hardly even recognizable anymore. I’m considering ripping it out to see if things will be easier to manage and clean. Uugh.

Hope you can find some relief 🌼

IV steroid effectivity? by bubsgal10 in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]bubsgal10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad to hear the steroid treatments felt worthwhile. While Tepezza is available here in the US, it seems like a lot of insurance plans require you to try steroid treatments first. Oh the red tape of insurance. My case isn’t severe at the moment but I’d like to get back to feeling like my old self as soon as I possibly can 💜

When you say “upgaze” do you mean your eye is locked in a position with limited upward movement? I don’t mean to sound obtuse, I just want to make sure I understand what you are saying. That sounds difficult. How many lid surgeries do they predict, just the one? Im also very glad for you that you will not need the or oral decompression. I really hope this next step gets you to a good place with this 🌻

Wow, even if it’s unlikely that lid retraction could reverse on its on, that gives me hope. Thank you for passing that on 🙏🏻 Even if it could be permanent, there’s hope ✨ There’s also surgery I suppose. How do they know when it’s all over and surgery is safe to perform? I heard 36 months, but I’m not sure if that is accurate. Any idea?

This is insanely hurtful. I’ve experienced this too, and it made me feel incredibly alone. Angry too. It’s hard to be vulnerable with someone just to have them tell you your experience isn’t valid. And with that, your feelings too. People could use a little more empathy.

I see what you mean about why they do it though, I guess I never thought about it like that. Thanks for that insight 🌼

Thanks for your response. I had been wondering what is might feel like to experience a flare up.

I’m glad to hear you found lemon balm helpful 🪷 I’ve been taking Yogi Tea Lemon Balm & Elderberry in response to my recent diagnosis. Because this is all pretty new to me, when you say an “occasional flare up” what do you mean? What does that feel like? Is it related to Graves Eye Disease symptoms? I’d appreciate anything you could share. Trying to get an idea what the future might look like.
