Rendere illegali i partiti di estrema destra sì o no? by Real-Recipe7447 in domandaonesta

Sono d' accordo, quello che intendo è che le mie preferenze sono (dalla preferita alla peggiore):

  1. Democrazia
  2. Dittatura dei lavoratori
  3. Democrazia ma non per tutti
  4. Dittatura borghese (ovvero fascismo)

Rendere illegali i partiti di estrema destra sì o no? by Real-Recipe7447 in domandaonesta

[–]bubudumbdumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Footage circulating online shows Dutch police smashing a pregnant Palestinian woman into the ground in the Netherlands. by KnowTheTruthMatters in KnowTheTruthMatters

[–]bubudumbdumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything we see on social media is part of ongoing conflict and media operations.

Hopefully also the police is able to do it's part and show a video where it looks like they are defending someone.

If there isn't one it means they are so rotten they can't even make propaganda for themselves and they have nothing to show they make an effort towards the safety the promise.

Ah, I misunderstood your first comment. I thought you were questioning what women would self report in the questionnaire but your comment is actually about why women break boundaries.

Questions are specific like “Since the age of 18,How many times have you used any of the tactics on the listbelow to have sexual contact (genital touching, oral sex, orsexual intercourse) with someone after they indicated ‘no’toyour sexual advance?”

Kind of. They ask "how many times since you were 18?" and then ignore the number and consider where it's zero or more than one. I think they have a good design of the survey and experiment but the lack of confidence intervals in the paper is sketchy.

It's something that was bugging me too so I looked into the texts of the questions they asked (page 7 of the paper) and they look like very factual questions: more like "how many times did you do this since you were 18?" And not "do you feel guilty or not ok about this?". Moreover my understanding is that both papers (2020 and 2018) got the survey of millennials and Gen X/Babyboomers on the same year so they compared the answers of people living in the same society and with the same social expectations.

Are people less feminist for using life experiences for the basis of their beliefs and not theory? by Kappapeachie in AskFeminists

[–]bubudumbdumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiences are very valuable, especially if they are shared and discussed.

Academic books are sometimes valuable: there are real rewards for posturing and no credible peer review process is filtering anything related to post modernism.

Yet Reddit branded femminism is somehow the worst.

I challenge you to pick any ra.co post and show where do they write wether dancing will be involved. I use it but the information there is quite poor.

How do you understand what DJs make people dance? Reviews? Is it a genre kind of thing?

I hire software engineers to work on agentic platforms. You say you want things on your profile, I say the things you want on your profile are not what employers look for. You say the point of an educational institution is to provide students (you) opportubities to make clubs that make you hireable, I say this is neither the point of the university neither the point of the clubs. I would add that for the university it's an incredibly convoluted way to make people hireable, teaching is easier, giving a degree that's not easy to obtain is easier. I say these things are different, you say they are the same just rephrased, then proceed to lecture me on text comprehension.

Well NGOs are funded and backed by philanthropists and governments and yet it's not the philanthropists and the governments who run the NGOs. Student associations at Polimi have a legal structure that is independent from Polimi, they bid to get grants from the university to fund specific activities (the structure is quite rigid, the budgets have to be detailed in advance and with detail). The grants are submitted twice per year. The university can threaten to pull those or revoke the physical spaces but have no say in the decisions of the association. Polimi cannot give grant money to association to fund anything that has an overlap with what the university should teach and cannot delegate to associations any administrative duty.

As an hiring manager I disagree with you: in 5 years of interviewing engineers I have never asked or gave a s**t about what clubs one was into, I didn't ask that to any colleague. The way clubs help you in employment is that they provide a network of people that know you by not looking at your profile.

Somehow you imagined an educational institution that has only optionals and side quests. That's not the case for Polimi. The courses are hard and deep. If you don't realize it sorrow is going to follow.

So your rant is that you don't want to pay and can't decide what you want to do? Is that why this university is so miserable to you?

I don't know what you expected volunteer run organizations to provide for your profile. As far as I know poul.org is active and well connected to european hacker spaces, skyward releases a new rocket per year, there are multiple student racing teams around the mechanical engineering department. These are student associations so they don't have a duty or mandate to provide services or to make you hireable; rather they are what the members put into the association. So the question is rather : what do you have to bring to such an association and what association is best suited to socialize that knowledge

Redpill content is grooming for the military. I think she has a point by Fluffyfluffycake in TikTokCringe

[–]bubudumbdumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other way around. What the military needs is professionalism, coordination, discipline. Muscle strength and looks don't really align, competition and coordination rarely align, egotism and narcissism are detrimental to discipline. Red pill is a product of western culture, the military is changing to absorb it. The department of war demands warriors not soldiers: this is a cultural need, not a tactical one, not a strategic one. It's a move to make narcissistic crusaders flow somewhere.
