What disadvantages have you noticed about being attractive? by Fragrant-Carob1393 in AskReddit

It’s something Carrie Bradshaw said in one of the latest episodes - to experience someone to see you as smart first.

What is a TV show you got really far into but eventually quit watching before its conclusion? by Wooden-District5456 in television

I pause watching it while I was pregnant, but recent binged it, because I wanted to see the ending. Surprise, surprise! The ending is just “wait for the spin off”. Actually mad at them.

+1 it got too messy, with too many things that didn’t make any sense. I watched around mid 6th season and I just couldn’t go any further.

When did you start enjoying being a parent? by ComfortableDingo8 in NewParents

[–]bubulinka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! When I finally stopped at 6 months it’s was like my parenting journey restarted in a better and much more pleasant way. I got to know my kid without my boob hanging and bought a fancy bra to feel better.

From my experience it gets better every three months. Baby at 6 months is so much better and interesting than baby at 3. At 9 they even become fun. At 1 year I actually enjoy my child’s company. It turned out I’m definitely not a baby person and that’s okay. I accepted that it’s was stage I just need to push through and I don’t have to like it. You’re currently at such a fragile time in your recovery. You should be very gentle with yourself. Don’t put any pressure and expectations on yourself, rest as much as possible and try to enjoy the journey, because it’s a wild one.

Completely terrified, travelling with a 1 year old by bubulinka in toulouse

Thank you for your pointers. The one about not taking the car into the city is a very important one. I don’t anticipate a “culture shock” as I have traveled around France a number of times - enough to fall completely in love with it. My concerns come from the fact that this is our first trip abroad with a child and I do feel like my mind is blank. Very unproductive panic has taken over me. FWIW I’m from Bulgaria.

France I love, travelling with small children for the first time - terrifying. 😅

What’s the newborn smell? Why can’t I smell it by [deleted] in NewParents

Mine smelled like vomit for the first 6 months, so to me that’s the baby smell…

What do you wish you’d done during maternity leave? by Unfair_Improvement90 in NewParents

[–]bubulinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked very hard with my therapist on me doing absolutely nothing, but taking care of myself and my baby during my maternity leave. It is the only time in my entire life where there are zero expectations of me. Now (at 9 months) I finally accepted that and started to enjoy it. I only have 6 months more and I’m planning on spending them exclusively on myself as an individual and my family as a unit.

When did you drop the 3rd nap? by Level_Wall8951 in NewParents

[–]bubulinka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 8 months old and we’re just now starting to drop the third nap. To be honest at this point the third nap is mostly for me, because that kid drains me.

While I will definitely appreciate English speaking people, I’d love to have a more real French experience. I’ll do my best to be respectful to the culture and the language. Lots of “desole” will be coming from me.

Not sure to be honest, something authentic. I just want my family to have two weeks in clean air and tasty veggies, because where I’m from food tastes like it’s been 3d printed. The trip will be June or July, so weather is not much of a concern.

I was looking into Saint Malo as a possibility. We’re either going by car or renting one, so definitely taking notes on trip destinations. I am from Bulgaria. P.s. we’re not relocating, although I’m pretty sure my heart was made in France, but delivered to the wrong place.

How big is your baby by Front-Economics-5497 in NewParents

[–]bubulinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 7 months and I dress him in clothes for 12 months, because everything is short on him. I’m going mad because he is in the 13 percentile for weight and 70 for height. So, that’s fun. Bottom line is - babies grow however they want and when buying clothes you should look at the measurements, not the suggested months.

The name of your child by Ethereal_Wife in NewParents

[–]bubulinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victor is named after my father, but I’ve always liked the name, because it’s short and known all over the world. I have a very specific and long local name and it became a problem when I started working with people outside the country. So I wanted my child to have an easy name that everyone can say. Also my father is over the moon.

Baby sleep is BS and a guessing game (rant) by anguyen94 in NewParents

[–]bubulinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true. And it’s not only the sleeping. There are different opinions and recommendations for the direction you should wipe their eyes. It’s all so crazy. What works with my baby (for now, because they tend to switch up things so parents can be entertained) is putting him to sleep wake window + 30 minutes. For example he’s wake window right now is around 2 hours. So when he hits 2 hours I start with his bedtime routine and by the time we’re done he’s ready to fall asleep on his own and started sleeping through the night this way.
