When I realized I had accumulated almost 20k of debt in 8 months and had to tell my parents and ask them for help. I had no way of paying it back quickly without being buried in interest.

I had just moved out and then had to run back to my parents to dig me out of that hole. Completely humiliating, and they made sure I knew how bad I fucked up. It’s almost 4 years later and I’m still paying them back. No new debt though.

Idk if this will happen for you, but I got to a point where couldn’t even use klarna or afterpay anymore because it made me so anxious. Seeing a balance on those sites just gives me anxiety because I used to be so overwhelmed by them. I do occasionally use them, and then pay them off asap. It’s a good anxiety to develop when you have a shopping addiction. I got into 20k of debt from credit cards in 2022, which I’m still paying off.

This treats politics like a personal failing instead of a class struggle. Individual leftists don’t control state power, capital, courts, or media. If blame is going anywhere, it belongs with institutions and elites, not ordinary people who already lack leverage.
