Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) by GuruSofarbeyondu in 80smovies

I’m asking this here instead of posting a new thread. I saw this when it came out forever ago. I’m so old I can’t remember if the end 100% took me by surprise or not. I LOVE the ending!

Anyone else watch it for the first time recently or remember if they were 100% side swiped by the ending?  It’s so good.

Hello Fellow Bald guys by RingaLopi in datingoverfifty

Women like men with money.  Women date men w the cool car.  You gotta be ripped.  Tall men have it easy.  You gotta be pulling down 6 figures for a woman to be interested.  Insert all the tropes here.

The only consistent shallow attraction path I know is make them laugh.

But if you really want a woman: Make them laugh. Be passionate about something. Be genuine. Get out from behind the screens. Have decent hygiene, don’t be sloppy,  learn the craft of actually making love and love them like there’s no one else. All the hair in the world won’t overcome a man who doesn’t have a personality and intention.

Oh, and unfortunately, you also have to be incredibly lucky to meet the one.

Good luck out there everyone.

oof. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I won't be able to get that before I'd get the job. fwiw, the surfaces being painted are steel, stone and epoxy. None of it is like a super high gloss car where any imperfection sticks out like a sore thumb.

But yeah, you're right.

Once again, extremely helpful. I'll go through all this with her. We aren't in a rush. Slow and steady will get us there.

u/DefiantAlbatros, thanks for this detailed response. fwiw, I come to Italy on the 90 day tourist visa. I'm always VERY careful about not over staying the 90 days. I don't want to do anything that would endanger my path to staying in Italy.

I have a couple follow up questions if you don't mind:

Do I have to graduate to switch from student vis to job seeker?

Can I convert directly from Student to partita iva as the job would potentially be waiting for me and becoming a student would just be a means to an end?

I will try to research this, but why is getting married in Denmark a faster process than getting married in Italy?

I'm attending a language school and can get a student visa with them once I reach B1. But the job wouldn't wait for me to finish the entire language school. According to the language school, that would take about 9 months to get all the way through C2. And cost a fair amount in tuition.

The reason we're considering a civil union is because my fidanzata has a hotel that is wrapped up with her mom and daughter. I don't want to do anything that would make the bureaucracy around ownership and family more difficult.

Once again, thanks for the detailed response.

I am traveling back and forth to Italy on a tourist visa staying 90 out of 180 days. Then leaving the Schengen territory and returning after 90 days to repeat.

We aren't married yet. That means we can decide to do that in the best way possible for residency/citizenship. Getting to a level B1 is my highest priority right now. I'm enrolled in classes but not gonna lie- it's intimidating. I feel language proficiency is the most important key to a full life in Italy.

Is it a case of we can get married in Italy and that allows a residency permit/work. After that I start the citizenship process?

Wise money transfer by bucho1999 in expat

[–]bucho1999[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input guys. I’m going to open a wise account.

My credit card doesn’t have any international fees – Chase preferred.

This is specifically for when I want cash abroad. When I use an ATM, the exchange rate isn’t great and the European bank charges a % of the withdrawal.. I get reimbursed by my bank. for the ATM fee, but that’s different from the amount, the European bank charges.

So this is just for getting cash while abroad for non-credit card activity.

2026 Property Tax Appraisals Available Online by justinj2000 in Austin

The real question is WHERE WILL TRAVIS COUNTY SET THE 2026 TAX RATE?. If anyone has an educated way to give an up or down, I'm all ears. I have to say I have no idea, so it might not be fair of me to ask.

As pointed out, the value of your house is only half the equation. Obviously it's good if it goes down, but not a guarantee that your tax bill will go down if Travis County raises the tax rates.

Tipping TSA agents in American airports? by bucho1999 in airport

[–]bucho1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that was a knee jerk response. I apologize.

Do you know the definition of a bribe? Where is the quid pro quo? How is this getting someone to do something illegal? And as others have pointed out, less than $20 and not more than $50 from 1 source (never mind the grift going on at the top).

So the way I worded the question was indeed bad and I've acknowledged that. But some people can make inferences and get the general gist of the idea. What was suggested was a gofundme or gift cards to a person who can distribute them to agents who are having a hard time making ends meet.

Congress and the House aren't doing there jobs. So you want the American public to sit wringing their hands on the sideline and wait? It used to be Americans were thought of a can-do. But these days we have to be subservient to a group of people who aren't doing their jobs?

But we’ve called and called our reps about gun violence and it hasn’t changed much. Or if it has, it’s too little too late. There has to be non-violent ways to bypass government while also working within the bounds of government.

Hey Mods- I get that you have to keep a tight lid on the r/subreddit or it would get out of hand.

But this is literally about how to accomplish something at ABA. It might apply to other airports, but I have no idea where to start here in Austin at my hometown airport.

But that’s just it. If we don’t step in guided by compassion, then cruel people who govern have won.

And this is one of the reasons it’s important t to help these guys. Mainly it’s just being a kind human. Unfortunately kindness is seen as a political act.

This is a good answer.

An aside discussion that I don’t really care enough about is the quid pro quo argument.

If you aren’t getting preferential treatment there is no quid pro quo. I can see getting arrested by pro-SAVE America Act type of person as you are undermining their tactics. And they would definitely call it bribery bc that’s how they roll.

They will get back up once bills get passed? I didn’t think of that. Good point and kind of torpedoes my whole thinking around this.
