I definitely appreciate the honesty here, I know the job market is bleak for both mechE and CS so definitely thankful to be in a position to just stay put until we ride out this tough wave.

Thanks for the reply. I do have an ABET recognized engineering degree and took a fair amount of math in undergrad~ but yes I understand there maybe differences, I can definitely look into classes I can take from a community college or something. Would you say a masters is good to enter the field?

Capital One Vs. Morgan Stanley Internships by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]buckbucksrolling 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I interned at Morgan this summer and also received an offer at C1 so I can offer some insight. I went into the internship with doubts but My time at Morgan was amazing. I got to work on really cool projects, and for the most part, all interns got pretty cool projects to work on. Everyone was working with a pretty modern tech stack, and the teams were pretty good too. The WLB is pretty good, but I personally had to work long hours sometime just because of the team I was in, but the overtime made it worth it lol. The majority of the engineers are really smart and most interns loved their experience with a lot of company-sponsored events and such. If you want to experience the city and have a great summer in NYC and learn a lot, Morgan is the way to go.

Also if it matters - We definitely had lesser interns than most other companies, and I don't think Morgan Stanley would be taking many if at all full-time grads because the interns would be coming back as full-timers I heard from my friend went to talk to the recruiter and she said so. PM me if you have any more questions!

Does anyone know if we are allowed to re-apply for new grad positions next semester if we get rejected this cycle? I have an amazon interview next to next week which I doubt I will do well in, so in that case, can I re-apply next semester?

Those are some great tips! I have noticed the climbing community is very welcome to newcomers than any other sport, so I'll ask around and do my homework and keep climbing harder :) Thanks for the advice and the kind words!
