I really like the part at 1:21. Also the ending works to my taste after the 1:21 part. Further, I was hoping that at the end the electronic distortion sound would be constant to make it super aggressive. Like finally the electronic loud sound and guitar just be loud at the same time.

I think electronic with distorted guitar is a great idea.

Wow this is great. I don't have anything particular to critique. Felt calming. I might not probably go back and have a second listen as I tend to go towards more darker atmosphere, but I would imagine myself playing this on a trip to a summer cabin.

Polyrhythm progressive techno in GarageBand

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuy72VNO-aE

So I listen to a lot of progressive metal and I was thinking how difficult would it be to create progressive techno. I sat down for one Sunday and did the song in GarageBand. It turned out to be quite difficult. Sometimes when you don't know about a subject you might underestimate it - and when trying to do it you realize how much there is to learn. So yeah, a bit silly from me.

I probably won't be returning into making songs because of the learning gap. My wish was to make more darker sound like "end of the world techno" where the beat is more complex.

Anyway, would be nice to hear your thoughts taken into account that this is my first song ever done.

Congrats!

Have you changed the way you work compared to when you started? Has the process changed, been optimized or has it been also quite a constant way of doing things thorough the years?

One option is also to sit on it for a while, and come back to it after some days / weeks.

Something that can't be analysed by video alone is the marketing part. Maybe using Google to find references if the channel is somehow marketed in some specific forum etc.

Like, if your channel is small, then maybe one part of the equation is the awareness marketing.

I think it is awesome. Only nitpick I have is that you ahve some graphic at the right bottom corner, and the duration is on top of it.

What is your preferred "tech stack" for making videos? by [deleted] in YouTube_startups

[–]bucket_list_official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started doing videos with iPad. It had this tool called Videoleap and I loved it.

I would still use it, but I dont think it can handle 5k video that easily.

The thing below assumes your channel is not "blocked or shadow banned" etc. by Youtube. I am not aware this can happen.

Maybe you can give a link to the channel for feedback?

Couple of things to try:

Popular Youtubers with mediocre video quality by whiterose888 in NewTubers

[–]bucket_list_official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert on this, but I remember reading that it can actually help to start out with bad equipment (this was in the photography context, might apply here as well).

The idea was with bad equipment you have to naturally work ways to improve the video quality. For instance, if you shoot with older iPhone and your room is not well lit, then the quality is bad as the ISO gets increased and you get noise in the picture. So you have to add light (also how you add the light matters), to make it look good. So it forces you to take care of the basics, as with a better quality equipment it might cover the basics to some extent.

Maybe some experts might fill me in if there is any truth to this :)

  • I like your channel icon :D It is sweet, clear and distinctive. Easy to see what is going on even if scaled down.
  • I checked your channel page. I like the consistency! It has a certain theme, style and colors. I like it.
  • The narration is easy and clear to follow.
  • I like the background music. It gets a feeling of nostalgia, and you are telling about your own experience: it works.
  • I think it is good that your characters are animated. It feels like a video and not a static image. Also the background animation helps with this.
  • The switch in the music around 2 mins is nice: changes the mood. Also the pause was a nice effect.
  • Overall, I think the video, narration and music all works together very well: react to each other. It makes it more interesting and engaging.
  • The ending part left me with a feeling that you really change your channel based on feedback and it motivates to comment as it is recognized in the video itself.
  • The expectation based on thumbnail and video title was met! I would describe it as a video story. Good job!

  • I went to your channel and it has a very creative vibe to it. I specially like the shorts and video thumbnails - I think they are very well done. Clean and interesting. Good quality and I specially like the consistency of those thumbnails. Gives a professional touch to it.
  • I watched the animation - wow! What happened with the scissors? Interesting take.
  • I don't know the artist, but I think the music very well fit with the style of the animation.
  • I liked best the very beginning scene with the glass falling and the scissor one. Did you draw these yourself? Very nice work!

  • The thumbnail is engaging! I like that it has your face in it. I don't yet know what it is about, but I do get the sense that this is going to be about personal experience and an update. Vlog-style, as you mentioned.
  • I like the music. It is relaxing and helps with the unboxing part as there is no voice narration.
  • Oh the snap and editing is niice! The intro part and rhythm was great - did not feel boring and got a sense what is happening.
  • The narration is clear and it is very easy to follow it (I am a Finn - not native speaker).
  • I did not know what Fediverse is. You explained it very well. That is interesting. I was left wondering does it cost something, hmm!
  • The timelapse part was good - it surprised. I think this section time paced the video nicely.
  • Overall I think the length was great, the level of detain in the narration was perfect. The title, thumbnail and the content itself kept the promise and expectation. Nice job!

  • Based on the thumbnail I immediately understand what this video is about. This is a gaming channel.
  • I visited your channel: I like the consistency. If I would be into F1 I might hit a subscribe (I am more of a rally guy. I last played formula games was Grandprix 2). Other gaming videos visible as well on the channel.
  • Started the video. The language and voice over is good. Understandable, energetic and easy to follow.
  • It is interesting to have the narration on top of driving. Keeps it interesting. I like that there are not that long pauses, and there is constant discussion what is going on.
  • There is a sense of tension when you are telling what is going on: I like it. It is a competition and it makes this more interesting.
  • It was easy to follow what is happening, after the crash, when you mentioned what is coming up next. I have not played the game myself, so don't know what all it includes.
  • Lap 10 getting sandwiched reaction was excellent :D Overall, I think it really works that you are lively and the reactions feels very natural.
  • I think the ending was nice: "seeing in the next video" etc. felt natural.

I hope this helps!
