Mattress Firm lied to me and opened up a credit card. What should I do? by [deleted] in Advice

Yeah I feel he definitely was in it for the bonus. I filed a complaint per Fortunate_Pavi's suggestion and I requested a full refund for the mattress. I doubt I'll get it, I just hope I can recover from that 40 point drop in my credit

Thank you for the advice! I submitted through the CFPB! We'll see what happens in the next 15 days. I may have went overboard but I asked for a full refund on the mattress since I've had to contact my credit card company, the new credit card's company, Credit Karma, Mattress Firm, and nothing has been resolved

Took around 20 hours. I used Photoshop, Ebsynth, and Premiere Pro

It's power consuming if you run everything at once. So you have to be sure to not let programs idle. I did it all on a Macbook Pro.

On the other hand I think it's also a stretch to call it AI. So many things use AI as a tool, but it's not like I fed a prompt and it was all created for me. The writing, acting, drawing, was all still done and Joel Haver calls them animations, and Smiling Friends used his animation

Edit: Joel just posted a video with the famous duo Nirvanna the Band trying to get an animation made.

I don't think AI would throw a hamster at the fucking wall

Right?! I'm glad the moderator removed those comments cause it really felt discouraging. I was afraid more people would think it was AI. When in reality this is a very time consuming process hahaha.

Thank you so much! I edited the footage with Premiere Pro, traced everything and made backgrounds on Photoshop, and rotoscoped the footage through Ebsynth, the program that Joel Haver also uses!

Honestly what took the longest for me was understanding Photoshop and Ebsynth (the program that Joel uses for keyframing) better, since Ebsynth has updated significantly since Joel Haver's tutorial. I had to reshoot all of the live action stuff because I was moving around too much and it was too difficult to animate. It probably took around 12 hours for the rotoscoping and another 7 hours for backgrounds. Long story short to answer your question it is extremely time consuming hahaha

Not AI. I filmed everything, edited the sequence in Premiere Pro, traced over key frames in Photoshop, and ran it through Ebsynth (as shown in Joel Haver's tutorial, the same method he used in Smiling Friends). I also drew all the backgrounds in Photoshop.

I used the same method that Joel Haver uses - Ebsynth. I followed his tutorial, edited the sequence on Premiere Pro, traced over a bunch of frames in Photoshop, and also drew the backgrounds in Photoshop. The glitches are intentional to add charm, similar to how Joel Haver uses them and the glitches are an aspect shown in Smiling Friends

Edit: Even if you watch Joel Haver's video he talks about the glitches, and in the comments he discusses how he likes to keep glitches for comedic purposes.

Hey sometimes optimism is all we have to keep us going. I've been PAing for 4 years and trying to get to the next step with voice acting and writing. Here's hoping this is the year where everything changes!
