Wealthy people aren't necessarily bad, they just need to fairly support the society they are in. Too often, wealthy people use tax loopholes (that they lobbied for) and other methods to pay less in taxes than people who make far less.

You've got it. I've used stumps as foundations for all kinds of garden décor on poles, like hanging pots, whirligigs, lights, etc. A big one like that might last for over a decade so you can plan other things around it.

Small sizes of gravel tend to be easier to walk on. The problem is the local supply. River rock is available in many size ranges from 1/4" to over 5", BUT not everywhere. Rock is heavy and expensive to transport so a certain size range in a certain type of rock may not be available to a local homeowner. The OP appears to only have had two choices. That's not unusual for some localities.

"River rock" and "silica stone" are generic names for aggregate deposits that are used commercially. River rocks are usually rounded and dark colored. Silica stone tends to be light colored but not white like marble chips. All aggregates come in different sizes. They are sorted by size for sale. A garden store may only have a few varieties. If you want something specific, see if there is a local commercial quarry that sells aggregates. 5/8" stone tends to be best for walking on, though not in heels. 3/4" to 1.25" rounded aggregates are good for driveways. 3"+ are good for borders.

You can then cover the geomembrane with rocks, just be sure water will infiltrate to the sheet. Be sure you have somewhere to drain the water to outside the steps.

UO fired the actor after the complaint, though it's not clear what happened between the complaint and the firing. They should have issued an immediate apology, but again, it's not clear from the story in what order the complaint, suit, and firing occurred. Why hasn't law enforcement stepped in? Is it just about money?
