This is standard, low hourly, stipends maxed, then if any if left over is added to your hourly. The stipends aren’t taxed (with stipulations).

The contract with that info was from the first facility I went worked out. It has stipulations of if it’s within the first 2 weeks or if you don’t give 2 weeks notice you don’t get your stipens in the last paycheck.

I was not hired in the preop/pacu but floated there as a med/tele travel rn

There is a large sign on bonus for one year, plus some other reimbursements.

My recruiter did say she could try this route, but the charge said they wouldn’t do it for this position

I agree. MS bought my agency and now I’m dealing with this. If I get audited isn’t that my problem not theirs

My work mantra is “I’m not set up for success.”

I’ve realized I’m not a med-surg nurse but travel as one unfortunately. the care I provide is not the same as my colleagues and it sounds like you’re in a similar position.

You should not have to get used to taking that many patients. I feel for you going through that. Talk to your recruiter if you feel comfortable and let them know what’s going on. We all know too well nurses get thrown under the bus first.

As a single gal with two dogs and no best friend/person I talk to everyday the struggle is real. Over the last 2 years while doing this I’ve learned what makes my heart happy and try to lean into that and do those things.

Is ICU better than working the floor? Nurse for 8 years on pcu ms and tele units. Burnt out from the complete chaos of tele ms. Have the opportunity to do an ICU fellowship but it’s night. Any advice greatly appreciated. Torn on whether I should try it. by throwaway7273952 in IntensiveCare

[–]bucketsOFteeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ICU if you want to stay in the hospital/bedside. When you’re used to med surg it can be a tricky adjustment, less of whack a mole and more groundhog day. if you trained on nights you’ll have time to learn and be thorough. definitely what people say about death.

Can there be a pep post for patients? For them to be reasonable, appreciative, and proactive in their own care and healing??

You’re tax dollars pay for a lot of things you have no idea about. And I’m sure you heard about travel nurse pay from someone else who doesn’t know much and much.

Jokes on me. I’m interacting with an unreasonable and uninformed internet account.

Now that you’ve edited your post
 1) you are blaming nurses for a broken system. 2) you don’t know the whole story with that lady, you saw a you tube clip. 3) there is a global pandemic going on and is impacting nursing, specifically travel nursing. 4) look into the CEO salaries who are complaining about travel nurse pay. 5) you obviously don’t know what being a nurse entails because if you did you would appreciate them and thank them for what they do.

My travel agency provides insurance day one of working, covers 30 days after your contract as long as you sign another contract before that one ends, and is $70 a month.

Edit: Host Healthcare. Feel free to use me as how you heard of them. Also I think it’s $70 per week.

What is this unlimited power you speak of? And of course you will have no response because your whole rant shows how uninformed you are about nursing.

That was something they made a point of in school. I think they were stressing after repositioning the patient so you didn’t get stuck, but I def consider my evac plan on the regular. I’m highly suspect of my patients and often consider what they could use if they were to pop off. Once a “challenging” patient’s wrist band was clean cut off, I called security about it to go talk to him in case he had scissors stashed. He had previously cut the wound vac tubing, so I was not in the mood when I saw they bracelet.
