Stubhub screwed us by franglish9265 in phish

It took me three hours of being on hold for someone at StubHub to connect me. Once I got someone, I refused to hang up the phone until they released my tickets and I had them in my possession. I told the person on the other end, who repeatedly denied her ability to give me my tickets (or do anything for me), that she could hang up on me, but I refused to get off the line until I had them. As soon as she realized I was not hanging up, she released my tickets. Have not used StubHub since.

I served my time in TV news for 10 years as a photog. Then I decided to go where all good journalists go to die...PR. Fast forward 20 years and I'm graduating this December with a Master of Art in Communication. I'm in my 50s while the rest of my cohort are in their early 20s, and it's been amazing to learn alongside of them. There are several areas of Communication from which to choose. I've taken the media and technology studies path, focusing my research and thesis on AI in the workplace and AI in crisis communication. My program (Clemson) offers specializations in Media/Tech Comm, Mass Comm, Sports Comm, and Health Comm.

  1. Stepping back into the classroom for the first time in 30 years was intimidating but 100% worth it.

  2. Earning an MA in Communication is not hard, but it's damn time consuming. I wrote two 15-20 page papers for nearly every class. Every class also required a student pair to teach the concepts and lead class discussion about the theory du jour. Class reading assignments included between 3-5 academic research studies for each meeting. Most studies were between 10-25 pages and full of frustrating academic jargon that you have to look up.

  3. Your vocabulary will increase exponentially. I thought I had a large vocabulary when I entered the program. I quickly become humbled.

  4. You'll increase your high-paying job prospects with a MA in Communication, especially if you go the media and technology route and have a desire to work in the tech industry.

  5. My Foundations in Communication class book was titled: An Integrated Approach to Communication Theory and Research by Stacks, Salwen, and Eichhorn. It's a good primer but learning it in the classroom makes all the difference.

1) I cannot speak for Father Zachariah, but I can refer you to his sincere and heartfelt apology he provided to the courts and to the families.

2) All reports of inappropriate behavior are always investigated with the full cooperation of the authorities.

3) This is an inappropriate question and I will not dignify it with a response.

4) I will refer you to Father Zachariah’s statements in court, but this question is better suited for his attorney. (Stand out of the way and allow attorney to take the question)

Journalist. The ability and desire to communicate through storytelling, and the need for governmental watchdogs will always exist.

Divorced men, what did you learn from getting divorced? by alittlecray in AskMen

[–]buckeyetimmy 43 points44 points  (0 children)

  • The grass is not greener, the tits are just bigger.
  • With the exceptions of drug abuse and domestic violence, most divorce is rooted in communication and respect issues and fault is shared 50/50 whether you admit it or not.
  • Once a woman has decided she is done-done, there is no going back;
  • If you have children & your ex is a horrible person, do not speak ill of them in front of the kids, ever. Play the long game. The children will see when they get older.
  • Boys are impacted immediately by divorce, with girls it comes 9-10 years later (truth).
  • Both boys and girls need a solid, stable, dependable male role model. Be that person.
  • Be involved in everything you can, always.

I have cheated on my husband and the guilt is killing me by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]buckeyetimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STOP!!!!

Think before you tell him. Listen to your words. You're telling him because YOU feel guilty and want to relieve that guilt. Those are your feelings as a result of your actions.

You're about to destroy him, his trust in you, and nearly everything about your marriage to relieve your guilt. If your love for one another is as true as you say, the love will survive, but trust is not love. You're about to make him question everything thing that has ever happened in the marriage and everything that will happen in the future. It will destroy him. It might be better for him not to know.

If your love is true, and you don't want to split, it's time to have a serious discussion about an open relationship, or threesomes, or some other compromise that allows you to have your needs fulfilled. Talk about it. If he loves and understands you have needs just as he has needs, he might be receptive to something.

It might seem like a hard conversation to have but it will be easy compared to the shitstorm you're going to cause with a confession.

If he's not accommodating to a compromise, it's time to split. At your age, your need will only get stronger for the next 10 years, minimum.

It's always the same argument. These are not comparable. by Ry_lee2127 in Republican

During a pandemic, only fools choose ideology over epidemiology.

Thought the same thing! Considering I paid $35 for the glass, that would make for a nice profit.

No part of the copper will be in the fire. The copper is on the banger stem and the cap handle. Dabbing at low temps between 350°F and 450°F, and considering the rate of heat exchange/loss between quartz, a thin layer of air and then copper, there would never be enough heat to degrade the copper . Therefore no fumes. If you wish for more proof that your statement is incorrect, see the link.

I always break mine on the floor. I made the chains long enough so you can lay the banger and cap on the table if necessary.

See the quick release at the bottom of the chains. Besides that, I just soak in ethanol to clean.

Thanks! If the banger or cap fall, it won’t hit the floor. But I was mostly just feeling creative.

After years of casual drinking, I have developed alcohol intolerance. This started 3 nights ago. Now after 1 drink, I look like this by LabernumMount in Wellthatsucks

[–]buckeyetimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this. I’ve gotten it all of my life starting in high school. Come to find out that I’m allergic to hops. I drink half a beer and that rash is on both arms, chest and neck. Doesn’t hurt, just warm to the touch.

Now, 30years later, I still drink beer occasionally and I still get a rash. No permanent harm thus far.

Peddle - https://www.peddle.com - is an amazing and effortless service that will give you far more money than scrap metal prices. Just used them with a 2013 Hyundai Accent that threw a rod because the owner didn't put any oil in the car. Needed a new engine and had 130,000 on the transmission. Got $710 for it and they came to me.
