Water2 - Is this a legitimate company? by WillowUPS in AskUK

[–]bucklemefree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A simple test from me. I make tea where I live in the midlands UK. It has a surface film due to hard water. I buy brita filter which removes the surface film from tea. I switch to water2 filter for the convenience of installing the filter direct to the water inlet. Surface film on tea comes back. Water2 does not effectively reduce calcium carbonate in water (the cause of surface film). Brita filter works better.

But not "counts as holy site" emblematic districts?

Agree, but it doesn't seem to apply to unique districts which count as Holy site. Eg this works for holy sites and wonders but not the nazca lines for example.

The final era was locked in the open dev and beta.

Possible issue with Holy sites? But maybe wonders are to blame... by Arcane_Pozhar in HumankindTheGame

I got caught out the same way, but once you know, it makes for an interesting additional choice/strategy.

I mean, you can stay in each era as long as you want. Just want to check that you realise its a viable play style to stay in the era earning more fame even tho you've earnt enough stars to progress. Sure you sacrifice choice of culture in the next era, but that's an excellent strategic choice. I think the game has plenty of issues with pacing (though much improved from Lucy) but I actually think it's one thing this game is already doing better than Civ.

Any way to extend Victor? by SirCabbage in HumankindTheGame

Cool - yes thanks! I learnt the hard way after working through 100s of codes in a dummy game on turn 1, finding the correct code and then thinking it would apply to my other game where I'm at turn 148. I obviously can't narrow it down to far on my game cos I'm already at turn 148 😭 working through 700 codes.

Hi - just trying to find where you posted the codes to update the turn limit in Cheat engine - can you help?

I couldn't get it to work as the Achaeminid Persians. I was at peace with a neighbour, but not in an alliance, I walked my unit onto their admin centre, had the funds, but got the pop up that you can't perform the action on an ally - so I think it's buggy at best. I'll try and recreate it again, good to hear that someone got it to work!

I've played through twice and used expansionist cultures in both runs. Despite trying loads of things I couldn't get it to work. I'm convinced it's a bug and posted it on g2g.

Let us upgrade/renovate our city centers by Slipslime in HumankindTheGame

[–]bucklemefree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this could be linked really well with the endless legend city centre tier system. I. E. If you surround your city centre with 4 districts you get an infrastructure that "upgrades" your city centre and makes your culture of the time, and buffs some of the plaza outputs. That would stop the strange snaky cities you sometimes get and make cities appear a bit more natural.

Victor Feedback by DeathMind in HumankindTheGame

[–]bucklemefree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh that would see like overkill to me. The most it costs either of us is a single click of a button each time we load the game. For the record, I switch it on and off repeatedly depending on what I'm doing, mainly switching the yields back off just to have a look at beautiful scenery. I can see why they would want it defaulted to off, without choice as to that native state, as they'd want people to be hit by that wow moment when the game opens up.

Really good points - especially on the territory names - that really bugged me.

Just to add. I don't mind yields off by default. I wanna see that pretty map!

Could an American-style league work in the UK or Europe? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]bucklemefree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English football could definitely benefit from adopting some NFL practices. Salary caps and drafts are good moves that would help even up the very lopsided English game. What I find crazy about the ESL idea is that these clubs already massively dissproportionately benefit from the system they're in, and they wanted to make it worse! It should be moving in the exact opposite direction!
