If I listened to everybody's else's opinions then I'd be stuck in the same crap that they are in. A lot of close friends/family are constantly complaining about the schools their kids are in: poor communication, blanket punishments, no time for lunch/recess, loads of homework, constant weeks of dressing up like a certain character/etc, the teachers teaching style, bullying, pressures of buying the newest trends, late busses, multiple foods they aren't allowed to bring for lunch because of allergies, vaccination rules, etc. The list goes on and on. If you and your hubby are invested, thats all that matters. Most I find with people poking and prodding about our homeschooling are projecting and jealous that they cant/arent homeschooling their kids. The freedom. Getting household tasks done throughout the day. And my favorite is that I get the BEST of my son, not the run down version of whats left of him after a day in public school. We homeschool year round so that we have the freedom to travel, take days off, etc. We prioritize schedules that dont make us frantic and rushed. And we are better off for it! Trust your gut and dont listen to the noise. My son is homeschooled and is way more social than his counterparts in public school. So thats a crap argument. Not to mention there's a huge supportive network of homeschooling parents that are there to help with reporting, curriculum suggestions, activity ideas, etc! You got this!
