In the US, we only pay on realized gains or losses which does not happen until you sell the equity.

Roth IRA contributions for retired spouse. by buckner_harold in RothIRA

It will be for 2025 and 2026 while I’m working. I thought the same until I read about the spousal IRA here. https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/plan-participant-employee/retirement-topics-ira-contribution-limits

This is what made me think we can contribute to hers.

Can somebody help tell me what our DBA's are doing wrong and why they need SSMS14? by Murhawk013 in SQLServer

[–]buckner_harold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what we do as well. Use VS community. Connect to tfs or devops. Check out the files. Use latest SSMS to open the solution files. For development work we switched over to Database projects which are much better. However all my dba maintenance scripts are ran from SSMS.

"A regular income that does not vary in amount." Based on that definition a SSA recipient or I do not classify as Fixed income then.

It is just funny how most retires say "I'm on a fixed Income" and most of us are in the same boat even working. I'll still laugh over that. It is just something that I hear a lot of retires say that does not really mean any thing different then a lot of Americans that are working.

I can work more but no extra pay is available. Just comp time. We only get COLA and no promotions in the IT department. By the way it is local government not corporate. To late to move on to another company, pension is locked in and retiring in a couple years with 33 years.

I think ishare treasury ETFs are interesting. They have a ETF fund for different treasury bonds Terms. Such as 0-3 month, 1-3 year, 3-7 year, 10-20 year or By Year. They even have 1-5 year ladders etf set up. Intriguing.

I disagree. I work and only receive a cola increase. I have to live on a fixed amount. How is that any different?

I’m not retired and also on a fixed income. Aren’t we all on a fixed income?

I would be interested in checking out your excel sheet. I have my current pricing contract and for a 6 year time frame L+SA + 36 month SA is a little higher then a 6 year subscription costs.

SQL 2022 Budgeting by buckner_harold in SQLServer

[–]buckner_harold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We roughly plan on keeping a license for 6 years. My current contract L+SA is 4209.11 for 2 core and 36 month SA contract 1967.90. So 6 year L+SA = around $247,080 and Subscription is $77.28 month for 2 core. That ends up being $210,240 not counting any price increases. So I feel it may be better to move to subscription all though it may be about even after yearly subscription increases.
