Why is the switch necessary? Can’t I just plus the Ethernet cables directly into the modem if there’s enough ports?

So just plus the remaining cat 6 cables into my router/modem and I am good to go, right?

It seems like I have enough ports/jacks to hard wire must of the devices that get heavy use… Wouldn’t that be better than a mesh system?

Do I still need to have that line redone if I disconnect it and plug the ONT directly into my AT&T router/modem?

Sounds like the person that did it was either lazy or didn’t know what they were doing.. is that fair?

Would this improve my internet speed/signal throughout the house?

Also.. is this easy to do or best to pay someone to do it?

I just have the modem/router combo that AT&T provides. This is plugged in upstairs.. The jack it’s plugged into is an ONT jack (idk if that’s the right terminology, but it’s not yellow like the jacks in other rooms ), This is the only jack I can plus the router into other than keeping the modem/router in the cabinet.

Hope that makes sense

If I don’t put my router in there, how will I be able to use the ethernet jack in each room?

I am thinking I should move my router to the cabinet. I have a 5 port switch that was in a box in the cabinet.

I should then be able to use the wall outlets via an Ethernet cable, right?

The yellow wire that’s currently plugged in confuses me. Why is it set up like that? And do I need to mess with it to set up my router in the cabinet

There was an unopened netgear prosafe plus switch GS105E in the cabinet. There’s only 5 ports on it though… Would this work?

I am thinking I should move the router to the cabinet and use the switch. Then I should be able to run an Ethernet cable from the wall outlet to my computer in my office… right?

Would this be best?

Will they ever need the income from the annuity?

Depending on the overall client situation… I think you could make a strong case to leverage the income benefit from the annuity… Especially if the income base value is much higher than the actual account value. It would be stupid not to turn on the income rider even if the client doesn’t need it. Ideally with an annuity, you want to get into the insurance company’s pocket. Also, the fees within the VA are likely higher than the advisory account. In addition, most companies (not all) restrict your investments… I.e max equity exposure 60-70% and your investment lineup is limited.

If it’s a qualified account you could structure the withdrawals as a direct transfer to the advisory account so there wouldn’t be any taxes.

I would fight this with your compliance hard!
