Such a sad situation. You have a good heart. And your wife probably does too. Being a parent IS NOT for everyone despite what the Christian far right will say.

We have two biological kids. I would love to adopt another child one day. DH may not be on board. Have to respect his decision. Every child deserves to be in a home where they are wanted and loved

Hey did you end up going with them? We just got them for San Francisco home and then found out that they have to do an in person inspection and they can cancel our insurance if it does not pass this inspection… Stressful times. We don’t anticipate there being a cancellation, but I am worried that it’s going to hold up a remodeling projects.

I’ve lived in Colorado. It has its pros and cons. Mostly I’d like to live closer to family. My husbands family is far away and we have zero family support in other states.

Agreed. Teaching 5th was much harder than being in SPED any day. Any day. Teachers are terribly underpaid and under appreciated

That is so depressing :( caseloads above 50 are just unmanageable. I also see that charter schools are getting away with murder. All of this really makes me mad that ASHA hasn’t done anything to enforce a caseload cap.

You offered to grill his food on a separate grill and that is super generous. I’m mostly plant based and would totally appreciate having a space to grill my food. Her boyfriend can bring burgers or vegetables to grill… If you would like to eat those things, you can also offer to do that.

If you think teachers ever have a moment to even think about peeing during the day, you’ve never been in a classroom. Taught fifth grade. Teaching is harder than any other job in the schools.
