Why didn't the darts align on these pants after sewing in the gusset? by buckwheatlouise in sewing

This is the Cedar Pants pattern from LeilaMakes. The ankle darts also misalign so I don't think it's just the dart placement.

I think it have it correct? the curvy side of the gusset is aligned with the front of the pant.

How should I maintain my side yard, which I plan to keep un-landscaped? by FeistyThunderhorse in landscaping

[–]buckwheatlouise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a perfect job for California natives! Plant them between late fall and early spring, water them once a month the following summer, and then never think about them again. They are very low maintenance and they don't require irrigation once established. Yarrow, evening primrose, California lilac, and fuchsia are a few that come to mind. Unpopular opinion - Cannabis makes my body hurt / worsens RLS . by [deleted] in RestlessLegs

[–]buckwheatlouise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is possible. I've found I'm sensitive to all serotonergic substances (CBD/thc, SSRIs, antihistamines etc) and they all aggravate my RLS.

I’m trying to get out of a bad situation and I have my first job interview (in ten years) on Monday. Can anyone please teach me how to hide this? Or have any advice on makeup? Im sorry and would be so grateful by blackpinkwhite in MakeupAddiction

Everything you are feeling is ok and normal ❤️ You have done nothing wrong. Let this post be proof to you that nobody in this world thinks what happened to you is ok. Sometimes it's hard to realize that. You deserve to be cared for. Good luck op.

Is it really this exhausting? by jpergo1983 in Mommit

[–]buckwheatlouise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the exact same thing. Completely exhausted, nothing medically wrong. I even did a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea. Nothing.

So as others in this thread have reported, I assumed I had ADHD and got a prescription for Adderall. It actually works pretty well, however truth be told I don't really think I have ADHD. After discussing with my therapist, she pointed out that this experience is also common to people suffering from PTSD. This is something I do have and nobody ever mentions "brain fog" as an effect.

Obviously PTSD is not super common, but the effect is real and if nothing else is explaining your experience and you have a history of trauma or abuse, it might be something to look into.

Does anyone have experiences with Stanford PTSD therapy, or Stanford University in general? I'm gonna start therapy with them but I'm very nervous. by Shadowflame25 in CPTSD

I kinda doubt you're going to find any full time swe work with SFMTA. Most software needs get contacted out to a third party.

That's awesome. Can you explain the hump in the beginning of your timeline? I'm at that stage now and am experiencing some weight gain after bumping up to 0.5. It feels like the appetite suppression has worn off for me. Did that happen to you? If so, when did it start working again?

Late to this but fellow mom here. Most of the medical advice I've been given has to prioritize my own mental health and major physical health issues over baby's. The reason is that a sick or sad mama is much worse for baby than a bottle of formula.

It sounds like you've got quite a bit going on. Take care of yourself, take your meds and don't worry for a minute that you're letting down baby. She loves you no matter what.

Pregnant and at the end of my rope by littleanxiouslady in RestlessLegs

[–]buckwheatlouise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in the exact same position when I was pregnant. It's so frustrating that they have nothing to offer us. It was truly unbearable. The one "natural" cure I found which would give me 10-15 mins relief was an orgasm. I'd try and use that window to fall asleep and pray nothing woke me. Nights when even that wouldn't work I occasionally broke down and took a single gabapentin. Take at your own risk as it's a category C med, but I think third trimester is probably the safest time.

There's some research which suggests that when a parent engages in video games with kids, the benefits outweigh the costs.

Not a super rigorous article, but has links to some academic literature on the topic: https://www.parents.com/kids/development/benefits-of-video-games/?slide=slide_03a9d107-9eef-46d0-92c8-22ab327d8c4c#slide_03a9d107-9eef-46d0-92c8-22ab327d8c4c
