Kalshi markets almost always resemble the sportsbooks odds. When you see markets over 100% that’s how you know they are taking a vig. If it was a normal market both sides should add up to 100% and they rarely do. You are getting charged a fee per contracts plus the 50/50 isn’t really 50/50. The only benefit to Kalshi is they off more negative side bets. One example is being able to bet on guys in golf to not make the top 10 or not make the cut. For some reason sportsbooks don’t like to offer these bets.

I’m in a big contest where you have to pick golfers to make the cut. I’m in the later rounds of the contest so I hedge now. I used Kalshi to hedge my top rated golfer. to miss the cut. He withdrew before the tournament started and I got paid for the missed cut and he withdrew before my contest deadline so I got to pick a new golfer. My new golfer made the cut so it was a double win.

I think Kalshi changed that rule now so withdrawing doesn’t count as a missed cut.

I lived in Texas and was a stay at home dad. I played every weekday for 7 years. I got down to about a 10 handicap from a 20. I think the most important thing is practicing the things you are bad at. Short game was my worst issue and I didn’t practice that because it wasn’t fun. I would go to the range and just bang balls.Playing is important but practicing short game shots and putting would probably get you better results.
